    What is the point of a random function?

    • haven't you seen 'home alone'? = )

    • So that someone watching your home for days on end won't observe: Aha, it always comes on at 6 pm so it's a timer and nobody is really home. Though I doubt if thieves go to that length. I seem to remember reading somewhere that many burglaries happen on Friday arvos when workers might come home late after a few drinks.
