This is a preorder to be delivered on/after the 3rd like everywhere else, i.e. if your company has a corporate benefit relationship with Samsung, you can register your existing Samsung account by activating it using your company email address. I can confirm working for Westpac and Telstra.

To test, check with your company’s corporate benefits. I simply modified the URL below accordingly with "Telstra" or "Westpac" to see if the companies have a relationship. But you still need a work email to receive the activation link.

    I believe it's just a limited time exclusive deal with Telstra. Optus etc should work in future, but they can't offer or advertise any plans for it (at this stage) and may not have it enabled on their network or something. It's not like the watch is operator-locked. [This is what I read earlier anyway]

I am wondering of the advantage of LTE over Bluetooth - I always have my phone with me so internet connectivity is not a problem, I would not be using the watch in isolation or to make/receive calls.

It does have more RAM - the real world effect = ?

I'm not sure if I want to drop an extra money on a plan just to have my watch connected via LTE rather than bluetooth. There is no long life prepaids available at the moment (this might come). Then there is the +$60 initial cost.

It's amazing that the watches are the same weight, down to the gram. They might even have the same hardware but just crippled?

Are there any other pros I am missing?

I may be able to leverage an eligible account later this evening and so may be able to help out, but am eager to understand how this would work… my thinking is:

1) When I place my order, I can include x-number of additional devices which will all be delivered to me (I'm in Melbourne)

2) Handover would have to be in person and paid in cash (or EFT in advance)

3) No single-item receipt would be available, so warranty claims, if needed, could be interesting (I'd be happy to support the process in the future, but gets messy)

Anyone managing this a different/better way?

  My case can be interesting. I logged in my EDU account initially but gave up after found out only 20% applied. I then used Gmail to access Woolworth page and managed to order 2. However, the tax invoice was sent to my EDU email address. When I went back to check my EDU account on Samsung, there was no order record!

    If they contact you, email the invoice to your gmail/woolies account, and then forward it to Samsung. They just want the evidence that you do in fact have an employee account.

  You can simply not enable the mobile number sharing option in the first place yes.

  The other carrier needs to provision the eSIM service to work with the watch.
  Given it's a timed-exclusive with Telstra, you could assume that once the exclusive period is over, Samsung will then work the other carriers to enable provisioning.
