  • Have to keep reminding myself to not purchase 'bargains' like this. I need every cent. Awesome, awesome deal! (I've got a 2kw Breville food processor I should use)

      This might help… :)

      1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. (If Windows is not installed on C:, substitute the appropriate drive letter.)

      2. Double-click hosts, and select Notepad when Windows prompts you to choose a program. If you don’t get the prompt, or if the hosts file opens in another program, open Notepad (Start, All Programs, Accessories, Notepad), and then navigate to hosts by clicking File, Open within Notepad.

      3. Place the cursor at the end of the last line, which will say something such as “127.0.0.1 localhost” or “::1 localhost”. Press Enter to create a new line.

      4. Type 127.0.0.1 www.ozbargain.com.au on this line.

      5. Click File, Save to commit to your changes. Dismiss any warnings from antimalware software, which may be triggered by your editing of the hosts file.

      ;-)

I can't buy Sunbeam. Really faulty products. $100 fan stopped working. Two of it's toasters stopped working. How can a toaster or fan fault. Such basic appliances. They have seriously poor product quality.

    • My 2014 Sunbeam EM7000 coffee machine is still going strong to this day!

  • 1 left at the Carnegie store.

Thanks heaps OP! My (Baking Queen) friend has been wanting one of these and I just got it for her birthday! None left at South Morang, VIC!

400 watts motor, I doubt this will do much.

    • Ive had one for years, power does the job fine for the odd cake, pancakes, whipped cream etc… might as well get a hand mixer though as the rotating base doesnt work well so i generally detach the mixer and use it without the base.

(If you use the bowl and base, it leaves a fair bit of mixture on the bottom so i found i was constantly having to spatular it off or things wpuldnt mix properl)

I have this particular model and the mixer does not detach from the base. However the bowl rotation is motorised. The mixing is decent. They include a spatula that's shaped for the bowl - holding it against steady against the rotating bowl achieves good mixing.

        • I have this mixer too and the mixer does detach from the base. You press the grey side button to tilt the mixer up to it's highest position, then press the grey bottom button to release it. Ours has been going strong for over 10 years.

The motor is just powerful enough to mix a cake and drive the dough hooks in the low gear range (making a pizza dough). I find it satisfactory, but I only use it about six times a year. Someone who bakes often should seek a higher quality mixer.

  • Only batters, not powerful enough for dough.

    • Agreed. I bought one before. Not powerful at all!

I found one of these that someone was chucking out on the side of the road 6+ years ago and its still going strong

For a while there I was getting it to knead bread dough for 10 minutes almost every day and it did a decent job

I'm sure that its not as good as a top end mixer, but its not bad

    • Oh well, I feel better for missing out on the deal then!

  • Got mine thanks lucky this time got deal

  • Crap, I didn't realise that these were online only! I was going to drop into the local store to grab one in the morning :(

    • Was in-store as well i took mine from store

  • Any recommendations on an alternative model that is fairly cheap too?
