Bacon deluxe has gone up it seems

    • Yep I still remember when it was 2 for $3.65.

    • Yeah it used to be in the 7 dollar range :(

  • +8

Most things have gone up. Classic inflation.

    • To be fair most are actually the same price as the current deal which finished today (1 Oct). Only a few have gone up slightly

      • +6

Not the 2x Whopper Jnr and Small chips =(

        • +3

Which is easily the best value and my go to lazy lunch. Goddamit 😓

          • @zfind: Same I always get that one and it even works with the extra drink and chips from the survey if you really want a lot of chips =P

        • +1

          Gone up by 25c

  • +4

Hungry Jacks prices have gone up

They used to be the cheap/good value option but now it seems like it costs as much as mcdonalds (when you look at the normal menu)

I think it started with that one fancy burger set they put out last year for like $11

    • +1

You can still shake and win for free stuff.

      • +11

Not really. These days you shake and just get offered discounted stuff.

Note they're also doing order ahead and pick up on their app, and all the sauces cost extra just like McRifoff

        • I get a bunch of free fries and drinks from it, I'm happy with that tbh

Idk about the order thing since I only get the free stuff haha

        • +4

the shake and win is effing useless now since the update….

      • That's what she said..

    • +1

It's like as though finally Maccas has caught up with their 'rewards' deals, almost on par with hungry jacks.

  • +1

they are more expensive than ever.

  • +4

havent been hungry jacks for ages

    • +6

Sounds like the burgers are better somewhere else?

      • Yep, at Carl's Jr.

        • Brisbane Airport, right?

I just want to go so I can tell them - (profanity) you, I'm eating.

          • @cheapy: They're opening all over at the moment.

            • @Wardaddy: I know. Quite exciting - 30 stores in Victoria. But when though?

  • +5

It also extends to their Shake and Win app which use to give you things for free but now they all seem to be discounted items instead.

    • I just tried it and got a free coffee.

      • +1

You have done better than me so far then. ;)

    • They started doing free stuff about start of 2018 I think again

    • +1

Really? I get a bunch of free fries/drinks every couple of days or so

    • +4

It's a shame that it doesn't actually work (9.0 Pie September Patch) - I'm tired of emailing hungry Jack's to update their app all the time…

      • To respond to a couple of posts, nothing free on my feed.

And it is working fine here on 9.0 Pie September Patch.

  • +3

    Phone is fine

  • Cheers OP 👍

  • -2

    Can I use phon

    • +3

      phon is not fine.
      Phone is fine.

  • +3

Why get anything other then a summer stunner? They are the best $6 you can spend…

    • +5

      Gives me runny poo.

      • +1

        Lumpy Dacks

      • Wrong country, AustriaBargain!

      • Guess it really lives up to its name.

It's a stunner to your digestive system lol

    • +1

A small Whopper Junior meal is $3 if you fill out the feedback survey.

  • +20

Dont forget for you Ozbargainers out there - adding spicy sauce and extra salad (onions, lettuce and tomato) to your Whopper Jnr's is completely free
2 small chips and 2 small whopper Jnrs is the best food deal out

    • did not know that thanks :)

    • +4

Is this still the case? I went to a HJ's a couple of months ago and they charged me for the extra salad. I haven't tried it since as I had assumed that they changed their policy.

    • Maybe a dumb question but what is 'spicy sauce' at HJ's? Is that the actual name? I feel like that isn't the name and I'm going to sound silly asking for it. Chili sauce?

      • +2

        It's called spicy sauce.

Sort of like chilli mixed with Mayo

    • This wasn't the case anymore I thought?

Or maybe the range has decreased now - used to include pickles, beetroot and jalapenos.

    • +1

Dont forget for you Ozbargainers out there…………..

Dang, this comment should be encrytped with 256-bit, put behind a paywall, and hidden from search engines.

We don't want the whole world to know what we are upto !

    • +1

not free anymore.. almost all stores charge now, if you find one with no charge you're very lucky,,,

      • It actually is still free except for the independent stores where it's up to the manager but there's not that many of those stores. Confirmed by email from a hj rep too - We do not charge for extra sauces or extra salads in any of our burgers.

Food is horrible, service is terrible, restaurant are dirty.

    • +3

I love it how some people are expecting fine dining experience at a fast food joint.

Or those that just because the one Timr they went to. It was dirty, or missing an item or it was a bit cold, threaten to boycott the entire chain for 3 generations

Don't think I've ever had a terrible experience at any of the big fast food chains

however, I dont go in expecting a somellier to pour my coke

      • -1

No, I expect them to be better than my local takeaway. Which provides better food at cheaper prices faster service with a cleaner restaurant. It's funny these places call themselves fast food when you have to wait 20 minutes just to order. Though better than KFC who can take over an hour at times,

        • +2

McDonald's I've only waited once and that was 3 mins for something
Yes KFC do make me wait but it's 5 mins max
          Yes it can be frustrating
          Hj have never waited

As for your comment about local takeaway being cheaper and better.

No non franchise takeaways I've never seen cheaper.

Big Mac meal. Is pretty expensive now at 10.50

A burger at my local is minimum 7 dollars, add a small. Chips and drink and your up almost $13

I go to hj etc because it's cheaper than the takeaway joints and it's generally far quicker

I am. Not going to get my knickers in a not if I have to wait 3 mins.

          • @Samsungnote10: My local can get a Steak burger, large chips & 600ml drink for $9.95!

          • @Samsungnote10: None of the fast food resturants where I live will give you that great of service. Maccas are clearly the best, you might get to order within 5 mins typically. KFC drive thru cars are always out to the road, people typically wait 15 mins to order there. On Tuesday it could take over an hour. Hungry jacks you often see people lined up out the door waiting to order, and people often walk away without ordering. If I went to hungry jacks right now, I would expect to be lucky to get to the counter to order before the timer runs out on their app. I pay $6 for the burger at my local takeaway, and $1 for can of drink. Their burgers are better than the gourmet burgers you get at Hungry jacks or Mcdonalds. If you ring up and order before hand there's no waiting. Even using the app to avoid waiting in line to order it's slower than that. I've experienced this at all my local regional stores in Queensland. It's different in brisbane, I blame the local regional manager. They need to invest some money refurbishing their restaurants, ceiling collapsing, no air conditioning, dirty bathrooms with taps and drier not working etc. Pretty much like an old run down pub some of the ones around here.

            • @Ronnnie: Im in vic, and teh cheapest burger ive seen at my local fish and chips is $8.90, add chips and drink and its $14.

Today I went to HJ for lunch using a voucher , and it was a jnr whopper with chips and drink for $5
              full price is probably $8-$9

there was 3 people waiting, I waited about 2 mins to get served (was a bit annoyed that there was like a manager and 2 other staff standing behind the counter but not serving)

I waited about 2-3 mins, and the food was fine.

              maybe VIC is different,
ive been to some mcdonalds at late night in the city and the place looks like a bomb site, but I dont really mind it

              • @Samsungnote10: Works Steakburger at my local is $8.50 I tried to put a link to my review of it on google but gave it up as a bad joke!

    • Every single one you went to? No, so stop dribbling.

  • +3

2 bacon deluxe remove the bottom bit of bread from both and make it a four meat patty burger with lettuce and mayo top and bottom.

    • BUT WHY

      • +3

Little bit less sugar and carbs without the bottom bit of bread or something I guess.

        • Also don't forget the diet coke :)

  • You meant 18

  • Does anyone else remember $1 Whoppers? They were around in 2001 or so in these booklets…those were good times.

    • +6

There was a long-running promotion where Whoppers were 75c while I worked at HJs in early 2000s. Other things I remember from my employment there is management instructing me to clean the customers sink with the toilet brush and an employee getting fired for jizzing in the mayo. So yeah apart from price not much has changed.

      • Fight club is real lmao jizzing in the mayo…

    • 2 whoppers for $3 was a good deal for a long time

  • 2 Whopper jnr and 2 small chips gone up again. (profanity) that.

    • Still ridiculously cheap at <$6 for two lunches.

Of course it is loaded with salt, so BYO water :)

      • I always get extra salt on my chips anyway :p

      • +1

Or one lunch for a REAL man

        • +4

Does a real man need a huge overhanging gut and cardiovascular disease?

Whopper Jr plus fries is 2500kj, plenty for lunch unless you are a bricklayer.

          • +1

@bargaino: If you’re active and healthy it’s not a big deal.

If you sit around eat this stuff often you’re gonna have a bad time.

  • +1

Looks like Hungry Jacks has wise up and decided not to make the vouchers app only for now.

    • +2

Can you use them on the app at all?

  • Can you just print and present these? Or will they complain about that?

    • You can just show them on your phone, so no they won't care if you print them.

      • +1

I normally just tell them the deal and they won't need to see it as it's already on their system. If they can't find it I'd show them on my phone.

    • Have NEVER had to show them the 'deal' have always just said I would like the 2 X for x on the vouchers!

    • Not sure why I got negged for asking the question?!

  • +2

Some okay stuff, but tbh, HJ's has never really topped the Stunner meals since their introduction ten or so years back. Great value day in, day out.

    • I'd finish uni and then get back to Sydney's Central station, take the escalator up to the HJ's and grab a stunner, eat the ice-cream while walking through the ticket gate and then finish the burger, fries and drink on the train right to my part time job

      • +1

You're living the life matey !!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Oh thanks. This was years ago but HJ's came up big for me back in the day with cheap food where I wouldn't feel guilty eating out. I also remember the 4.35 for 2 whoppers coupons and I'd tank them both within the same day, one before work and one after or before and after uni..those were the days eh

  • +2

So glad that brekky wrap deal is back! I almost only go there for this…

    • +1

When it came out it was regularly B1G1F. It fed me for months :)

  • +3

Before Ozbargain I use to order a large veggie whopper meal everytime I went HJ's with friends for around $14.

    After Ozbargain..

I can get 2 small veggie whopper meals with 2x small drinks and chips (same burger size), angry onions (extra 50c), heavy mayo and 2 extra chips for the same $14, a very filling meal for 2 people for the same price.

Now I just need to find some deals on losing all that extra weight I've gained.

    • Can you point out which one is that in the voucher?

      • +1

Second page, bottom left corner. Jist ask for vegg patty instead. Sometimes I get the chicken one and swap for a veggie patty but that is am extra $1.75 per burger, this is one free.

        • 2 Small whopper meals- 2 flame grilled whoopers plus 2 small drinks plus 2 small chips?
Is that the one you are referring to?

          • @andrewsaws: Yupp, then just add angry onions, heavy mayo and some more small chips.

  • +1

Would they take a photo on my phone? I don't have a printer….
