  • It's getting better and better. Seems like it'll go under $400 till tomorrow 🤣

    • In four hours there was a 4 cent discount on the current front-page deal.
At that rate I think it might take more than 24 hours to drop by $25

      • +1

        Well not with that attitude

        • If your attitude can influence prices, please be the most positive person in the whole world.

  • +4

Yeah let's camp out a bit. I'm sure for those who can wait it will definitely go around $400 soon. If you still have your 10% ebay gift cards like me waiting to buy, the total disc will be 15%.

Better still if the 1000XM3 is offered with 20% disc even at the RRP of $499, it's still gona be $399 after 20% disc. Add another 10% gift card disc will be $359!!!

    • Xmast is coming guys. Be patient !

    • -1

That's a lot of work. If you have JB HiFi F&F account, it will be instant $353, now.

      • +2

That requires having that account, though. 🤷‍♂️

      • It's $379 :\

    • Hi guys just wanting to mention that I picked up a pair for $397 from a seller on Ebay with one of the Ebay discount codes. Original price $440
They are now down to $387 with the current discount code!
Still waiting for the delivery because they are in back log, but hopefully not a scam, anybody else any luck with these deals?
      Seller name is discountedheadphones

  • I'm getting calls by these annoying scammers pretending to Mobileciti. Except they're MobileSciti. They quote the mobileciti address when asked. They're offering a plan for $40/month with ANY network, you choose.

      Hi TarquinOliverNimrod,

Sorry to hear this, but like you said, they are scammers pretending to be from Mobileciti. Related forum post. Thanks

  • I can wait. Have plenty of other headphones I have “collected” through OzBargain over the years.

  • Curious how they fare against Bose, as they own valuable NC patents. Won't be jumping from Bose anytime soon though because of their splendid after warranty services.

    • Have both Bose QC35 II, and the Sonys(version 1), and personal opinion here, but the sonys shit on Bose in both sound quality and noise cancelling. The version 3 sonys are supposed to be even better than version 1

      • -1

Hmmm I'm cautious with your statement. NC headphones have been notorious for having poorer sound quality. Noise isolation has always been the way to go for a higher res audio experience.

        • -1

Well of course, but we're comparing noise cancelling vs noise canelling are we not? I'd still rate the sonys over the non NC bose too. The sound of the sonys is pretty darn great though. I'm a musician that regularly records in studios, so I'm accustomed to high quality cans, for reference.

          • @ONEMariachi: alright .. i think it's time to sell my QC35 II :)

            • +1

@matt-ozb: I'd say try them first. Bose tend to be enjoyed more by people that like electronic music, as they tend to be a bit more bass heavy(but in saying that, my good mate is an electronic fiend and he prefers the flatter response of the sonys)- where as I'm a blues, Jazz, folk and metal kinda dude.

Sony's give you more room to eq your own sound with more flexibility. Which I prefer personally.

              • +1

@ONEMariachi: I believe the reviewers were saying Sony has more base. Certainly better sound and NC. To me the Xm2 look more premium than the Xm3s, but the new profile of headband makes Xm3s look more snug to head. QC35 jusy look cheap. IMO.

By the way it all comes down to own tastes and needs and budget. However the Xm3s are the current leader now in NC wireless headphones from what I can read and see. Ive tested Xm3. Good. Didnt have my Xm2s or a 35ii to compare myself

People are now chasing used Xm2s for $150 that are only 9mnth or less old on gumtree.

        • +2

The Sonys have the best sound quality I've heard from bluetooth headphones. The NC can be turned off when you are in a quiet environment to have slightly better sound than when it is on.

When there is a lot of background noise the audio quality isn't as good, however it is a lot better than having the background noise interfering or having to turn up the headphones to deafening levels to drown out the noise in my opinion. Can't say I've ever really had a great pair of isolating headphones though.

It all depends what you want, after a few plane trips and having some ear fatigue from the constant noise, being annoyed at my Jaybird X2's that always seemed to be flat and not enjoying having a cable when travelling in my Shure SRH440's I did some research, found out where I could try on different headphones and found the version 2 Sonys ticked all my boxes. NC, long battery life and decent sound quality. Most of the time I'm listening to streaming sources that aren't that high a quality anyway, so having the noise cancellation meant more than pure audio quality at the end of the day for me.

      • But the qc35 are way more comfortable esp for long haul flights

        • +1

XM3's are heaps comfy, subtle but very noticeable upgrades over the XM2 in the comfort department.
I've tested my mates QC35's and while vs the XM2s they traded blows, I'm fairly comfortable saying the XM3s are a clear wipeout winner over QC35s and so they should be. The next iteration of Bose will be good I bet.

        • Fair enough, I find the sonys just fine for comfort personally.

  • Good price, wonder if it’s worth waiting for these https://www.cnet.com/au/reviews/microsoft-surface-headphones…

    • +4

      Nope, get the Sony

    • +2

      They look so tacky

      • @hellohello123 Maybe compared to B&O or Bowers. The QC35ii look cheap and tacky compared to the Xm series. IMO

    • I'm going to wait for reviews before I buy either that or this (I own QC35 II and XM2 btw). It's definitely piqued my interest. Its battery life is sub par though.

  • can’t use USB c to listen to music which is a bummer

    • use a C to 3.5mm dongle. Your phone should have included one.

    • You also forgot that you cant pair with other devices easily.

  • I'd so get this if I did not get the Bose QC for $295 last week.

    • -1

No. No research? Sounds like Bose are a tad overpriced if they were the originals and not updated ones.

  • +3

Ofcourse this would go more on discount after I grabbed it for 456 last week! I'm shocked by how much it dropping considering it only just came out.

  • +2

I'm buying when they hit below $300 as refurb.

  • I got Sony mdr-zx770 how much better is this?

Is it worth the upgrade? I thought 770 is fine

    • Not sure on the 770 but I think these are some of the best noise cancelling headset around atm.

  • Would anyone in Melbourne be interested in splitting the 2 for $400 deal?

Could meet up in Melbourne CBD. PM me if interested!

  • I'm going to wait until it drops under $400 but from all the reviews, it seems these are a massive upgrade from last year's model

  • +2

I bought these, JB HiFi said they would do it for $429. Then buying 2x $200 Gift Cards from youi rewards (6.5% off). Think I paid $401. Then 10% from $429 for TRS so I rekon I got these for $358.10. Maths might be wrong but close enough

  • Hi Guys, I had this code AUNCUHM2Q6BNKBM to get AU $44.80 off this item. If some one wants to use it, go ahead!! Valid until 16 Oct, 2018.*

    • That code is linked to your eBay ID like mine is linked to my eBay id, thanks though!

  • Got it for $ 332.32, not a JB HI-FI f/f member though. This is how I did
    1. 10 % unique code - 44. 08
    2. used 4 discounted eBay gift card -40
    3. used Cashreward referral account -10 ( for used one) -10 (a new one) total
    $ 20 credit
    4. cash rewards 1% - 4.4
    total discount = $ 104.48
    Amount paid = (440.8 - 108.48 ) =$ 332.32

    • +1

what about the TRS GST refund?

      • wow ! that would make it the cheapest but unfortunately not travelling within a year! Thanks matt!

    • how did you get the 10% code?

      • It is a random eBay code for targeted customers!

  • nice deal! Thanks
