  Both voice recorders were from developers from Ha Noi with just an email address listed, the descriptions read very similar so I suspect this is either the same app written by the same author using two seperate email addresses, or it's a copy of someone elses app - since all Android .apk's are easily reverse engineered, making it easy to download, change the author name and info, slap on a few new interfaces or graphics and then sell as your own.

  Another thing I noticed was the permissions for the first one:

  receive data from Internet
  view network connections
  connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
  full network access
  control vibration
  prevent device from sleeping
  modify system settings

  Why would it need those permissions?

  I generally stay away from apps which aren't from reputable companies whose other apps I can look at to make sure they aren't all just copies of other people's work and ensure there are mostly positive reviews, among other things. I don't like putting unknown apps on my phones.

  Thanks for these though BA, you are one of the best deal finders I've seen on OzBargain and I'm mostly a lurker.
