Thanks for letting people know you can get better value and performance for your money if you buy a desktop instead of a laptop. Are you gonna potty train them too?

      • Adding to this generally you can get much lower idle power consumption on laptops. This makes it a good alternative to desktops for office duties/media/home automation server for 24/7 use cases.

Can I take a Dell Optiplex on public transport on the way to work to write up a few emails?

      • +1

        I mean… you could.

      • Was on my way home after buying a second hand server tower. Took it in the train. Some smart arse had to comment. Oh learn to laptop. Yeah. Like i can use said server tower visibly witout the other peripherals. Like monitor, keyboard mouse or a way to power it up on the train.

But hey aren't they a regular Einstein?

Thanks for the tip, 12Ghast. Any recommendations for portable generators to run my Dell optiplex set up on the go?

i think the screen res kills if for some people, fhd 1080p is probably the baseline as that is even what people get on many phones ….and with 14” to do screen swap , they aren’t as cheap and readily avail as 15.6”

    • yes, the 1080p would be much better. But based on my experience, 14inch 1080p screen will cost much more than 15.6 inch 1080p.

I had this for 5+ years. A tough work horse for business. Not noticing much unless you watch fhd videos but you Could connect to something elSe.
14" on 100% display, fonts are always too small unless your have perfect vision and prefer it small.
The default is 125% on 3 of our 14" and looks comfortable

I beleve the first Lenovo Thinkpad T450/T450s was released on Feb 2015. NOT a 5 years old laptop!!!

  • Does anyone know how easy to upgrade the SSD? Is there a HDD bay underneath?

    • +1

SSD is easy to replace for most laptops with a open cover at the bottom. but not for Thinkpad T450. You may need to remove the whole bottom cover and you can see the HDD bay on Mb. Just a few more screws and not that difficult. But we still don't suggest customers to do it if he never done before.

    Anyone have a xiaomi air?

I bought 2 refurb Latitude laptops from last sale, the shipping is quick, packaging was great. Good seller.

    • Thanks for your feedback. We are very glad to see good feedback from returning customers.

The only prob is the X220 I bought 7 and half years ago is still running strong!

  • Are these IPS screens?

    • -2

I am not sure about IPS. It's a slim type LED. Mostly likely, it should be a normal HD

    • Nope. Pretty sure the 1600x900 screens on T450s are TN.

  • Do these have a HDMI port? No mention of it but thought I'd ask cheers

  • Price now $499? Any chance of $465 again?
