  • Cannot wait for this game to come out. Suspect there will be some good deals on it.

Wonder if it will be a STEAM game or not?

    • Its a steam game, I'm waiting for that.

I don't buy non steam games.

      • Whats the difference between buying this copy or off steam???

        • -2

For BF2 you had to put in the cd everytime you played so with steam you dont have to.

But hopefully EA games teamed up with steam for BF3.

        • +2

BF:BC2 and MOH both worked fine without having to use the disk when you play so I'd be surprised if it isn't the same for this.

        • +1

Yeah, the latest update of BF2 removes the need for the CD.

I think the biggest advantage of having the Steam version, is that my friends can see when i'm playing and join the game.

      • +1

The great Valve surely appreciate your many credits…

But seriously, i too get most stuff on steam when it's on sale. But if it's a title I'm really interested in, I want the box for my collection. Plus it takes at least a couple of months at the earliest for steam to discount a new game, so if I want it sooner, I buy it from ozgames. I've used them about 5 times now. Because they're in the UK, it does take about 10 days to get it, but the price is great for a first release title, and the condition is always pristine.

So yeah, I totally recommend 'em.

    $109 at EB Games.

    http://www.ebgames.com.au/pc-153116-Battlefield-3-Limited-Ed…

If EB really wanted to throw down the gauntlet here at Ozbargain they'd come to the party with a better deal.

    I won't hold my breath….

EB - the store for suckers

    • why are you even posting a link for EB games?

      • +5

As a price comparison for those thinking they might prefer to pick it up at EB…

That phoebe girl often seems to hear their name as well and comes here and tries to compete by offer $15 off… $94!! Woot.

  • Good price, Kinda keen to hear how much this is going to be scaled down for 360

    • I believe it is 64 players on PC multiplayer.

PS3 and XBOX is less - not sure but think its either 16, 24 or 32.

I'd submit it but can't do it on my phone right now :(

  • Are there any discount coupons available. I'd buy all three games with a little discount incentive…

    GAMESFIVE no longer works

  • Video trailer makes it look very much like Bad Company 2 and COD. Not good early signs…

    • +3

were you expecting this to be a racing game or something?

      • +1

No jobler - obviously you dont play a lot of BF2.

There is a world of difference between COD/Medal of Honour type games and BF2..

        IMHO BF2 is much better.

        • BC2 and BF2 arent that very far apart…the only main difference was the command centre but it was still a team oriented game. And also i think it was to stop shitty commanders ruining a whole game…I can see what you're trying to say but i believe the trailer is only for the single player campaign. A much needed improvement considering how bad the BC2 one was.

    • BC2 is not a sequel to BF2 where as BF3 will be. I have high hopes for BF3 and I don't think it will be like BC2.

Like others I think BF2 is much better.

Ozgameshop are reliable, just be prepared to wait 2 weeks for your game to get delivered to you.

  • +2

With OzGameshop.com, I noticed after ordering a xbox360 game that it came from England and had to come through customs.
It took roughly 3 weeks for the game to arrive once I finalised payment - it was in stock at the time of payment too, which a confirmation email also indicated.

If this game is actually a pre-order copy of the british version,

    1) you'll have to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive,
    2) will the online capabilities (multiplayer) still work here in australia?

    • I ordered my Bad Company 2 from the UK and the multiplayer works fine, you choose which servers you want to join (au obviously). The game cd key didn't work on steam though. Was standalone.

      • My friend bought BF2 ages ago from eb-games, and sold to me for $5, worked fine online but didn't work on steam =\

    • +1

Online will work fine. Personally I'll grab mine from Steam, I don't like waiting.

      • Won't it be like $89.99 on Steam?

    • Awesome deal. Can't wait.

    • I pre-ordered Halo: Reach from Ozgameshop. They actually dispatched it a week before the release date and I had it in my hot little hands only two days after it was released in Australia.

  • What region, & will the pre-order bonuses work here?

  • +2

I had a nice surprise from ozgameshop today. I just received my copy of bulletstorm epic edition and for some reason its a proper australian copy?! It says made in australia and has australian ratings. The package was addressed from england so im not sure how that happened, but im not complaining =]. Hope that it wasnt just a one off because their prices are heaps cheaper than australian shops.

  • If i purchase PC Games from the UK, are they region locked? Like will i be put into servers with other people from different countries, instead of AUSSIE servers?

    Thanks!

    • +2

Generally no, PC games are not region restricted, unless the game publisher likes being an ass (looking at you, Blizzard) and region lock their games.

      • Okay thanks for that! So in that case, this does not have any effect on EA games?

  • +1

Just in case anyone was wondering. my brother has ordered quite a few games from this mob. All arrived working, in good condition and as advertised.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them if you don't need the game on 'day one of release.

    • Yea me too, very happy with their service, ordered ~5, possibly more games from them (I lose track haha). I don't mind waiting for their prices :)

  • This has no release date and they are saying December at the earliest, and has a good chance of being pushed back to 2012.

Why would you even bother pre ordering it now. Might as well Pre order Diablo 3 too in that case

    • +1

I thought the same thing at first. However, at $45 for the limited edition of a game that I know I will want… I don't really care when it's released.

      • heck yes. $45 for DNF is half the price of JB and EB's pre-orders! I'm down. :)

  • +1

I'm getting this on steam. Can't wait 2-4 weeks for BF3 to arrive from UK.

  • Nice :) If only we could find a local retailer willing to price match a pre-order.

    Unlikely, but would be.. delicious.

    • +1

Not sure delicious is the word I would use but yeah that would be epic.
