Serious question - as an Android phone user, what's the benefit in having one of these? I already have a heap of microUSB cables. Or is the deal here is that it's effectively a cheap Lightning cable?

  I think the benefit is you will have a cheap MFI certificate lightning adapter($1.6 vs $~9 on ebay) connect to your microUSB cable.
