Fetch TV Mighty PVR M616T - $319.20 (Free C&C or + Delivery) @ The Good Guys eBay

140
P20TGGS

Was looking for a FetchTV and ended up paying $350 at HN 3 weeks ago, then this came up … I'd say it's a good deal for now. The other one was JBHiFi for a refurbished unit, but when I went into the store and asked the staff member mentioned refurbished would mean units that were faulty but repaired and repackaged, and even the site incorrectly states 12 months warranty, as it would be 3 months. So for the sake of an extra $50 buck i think this is worth it, since it's brand new and has a 2 year manufacturers warranty (stated on my invoice from HN).

Good luck!

FYI, you only get Optus Sports if you get the box from Optus.

They have enabled it on retail boxes now too:

"Optus Sport is now available to customers who have an account directly with Fetch"

      https://www.fetchtv.com.au/optussport

      Nope. Open to all

      • Sorry, I can get Optus sports if I want to … and I am not with Optus

  • These units are two years old now, you’d think an upgrade might be just around the corner? Good price though!

The other one was JBHiFi for a refurbished unit…the site incorrectly states 12 months warranty, as it would be 3 months.

Fetch themselves confirmed they come with the full 2 year manufacturer's warranty:

"Are you after a Fetch Mighty or Mini? JB Hi-Fi now have refurbished boxes available at discounted prices. Don't worry, they are good as new and come with standard warranty"

In other news, there is an update coming in the next 3 to 4 weeks that will enable FTA streaming between a box with an antenna connected, to a box with no antenna connected, and also will allow Bluetooth speakers and headphones to directly connect to a Fetch box :)

    • also will allow Bluetooth speakers and headphones

      Thats good news

    • I have 2x Fetch Mighty and 1x Mini … enabled with MultiRoom… but when I record from Mighty1, and i can see these recordings on Mighty2 … how can I stop that?

      • Menu > Manage > Settings > Multiroom > Options > untick Enable Multiroom

        https://www.fetchtv.com.au/pdf/Multiroom_user_guide.pdf

        • Yes, I have read that doc many many times … but wont that disable Multiroom for ALL other devices??

          Want Multiroom for
          MightyA
          Mini

          Do not want Multiroom for
          MightyB

I didn't do any config on MightyB and it was already seeing all the recordings from MightyA, and I am scared I will stuff up the config if I change things …. I can't find a phone number for Fetch, that's the downside

          • @db2k: It should only disable it for that one box.

If you want to confirm, you can email Fetch (they are pretty quick to respond normally):

            [email protected]

Where do you find out about new upcoming features? I’m most interested in streaming FTA as we want to do Multiroom but needed to look at getting additional tv antenna points, maybe not now?

  • I grabbed one of these yesterday using my discounted PayPal vouchers. Good price for something I've had my eye on for a while.

Store stock was a bit limited in my area so I couldn't to click and collect.

  • I don't get this, why is people buying the box? don't they send the box for free when you subscribe or did i get lucky?

    • You are on Optus/iiNet … and are restricted with their internet plans/bundles …

Where as outright will allow you to get Fibre and pay $20 per month for the bundle package with $100 100/100 Fibre internet …

      • I live in the share house so might be the owner who has the plan but what's this '$20 per month for the bundle package with $100 100/100 Fibre internet' you are talking about, do you have a link?

Looked long and hard at buying one of these after my old Panasonic PVR died. Good unit but unless you do a lot of free-to-air recording, not sure it's worth it. There are some powerful streaming Android boxes with TV cards that double as PVRs and give you a ton of options, especially if you have a bit of tech knowledge.

I ended up buying a MECOOL KIII PRO: https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_608446.html

Watching Pakistan-Australia cricket live through IPTV as I type - bye bye Foxtel :)

    • Not sure if I'd trust those kind of things. Cheap and junky looking, buggy, (possibly) spyware riddled, and that custom UI is ugly as all hell.
