Mix in some egg, spam and fresh/frozen vegetables with a bit of soy sauce and you've got yourself a delicious meal to feed the fam. Substitute the spam for chicken, prawn or any other meat you can find. Lime juice or peanut butter also do wonders instead of soy.

It was always my cheap go-to cheap meal back in Uni days.

      Vegetables? Yuckkkk

    • Surprised you didn't add Nutella to it.

      • Chocolate spiders require fried noodles. Dunno how fried instant noodles would go.

        • Changs?

          • +1

@Last Seen: Yup that recipe works too. Chocolate spiders were my childhood party food.

Spam is a crime against humanity and does not belong in the same sentence as "delicious".

Please don't feed this to your kids..

      • Good thing there are no kids in my family 😉

What does that have to do with this post? People buy noodles because they are cheap. You can get 15pcks for the price of 1 youfoodz 1 person meal.

      • If you ate something nutritious you'd feel better

  • I like Aldi's Mi Goreng. it's very similar to Indomie's. But Indomie's "traditional" mi goreng is actually tastier than the normal Indomie migoren.

    • Go and try the non-import quality of Indomie … you be amazed!

      • You mean go to indo and try it there? LOL

Anyone else find that the oil in the sachets come inside the noodle packets are always congealed and cant be poured onto the noodles. I have found this with these Magi Mi Goreng ones and also the Indomie brand too :(

Pro Tip: Cut up some shallots/spring onions and mix them into your noodles and then add a fried egg on top (cut up the egg) for super tastey noodles. I never get sick of this meal!

I normally dip the oil portion of the packet into my pot while it's hot but not boiling. This slightly heats the packet and allows it to mix together with ease.

I also find it much easier to just poach an egg, throw one in whole with your noodles just before boil, remove everything at the same time, that way your egg is still runny and the yolk mixes through with the noodle.

      • @Sk3iron Good to know I'm not the only one who gets this and thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I do them in the microwave instead of the stove. Maybe I should just microwave the congealed oil in a small dish and then pour on top of the noodles after I drain them?

The oil in these packets hasn't gone bad has it?

The oil in these packets hasn't gone bad has it?

No, I think is due to palm oil being used in making. But they can legally state it as vegetable oil in the ingredients list.

Besides topping a fried egg, try adding some tomato sauce or tomato ketchup in it. It tastes super good!

          • @iHello: @iHello Thanks, I dont know what palm oil is but Ill look it up now. Thanks for the tip on tomatoe sauce, that could work. So far I have tried some of the Fountain brand marinades as topping and they work well with the noodles, honey and soy is really nice and plum and satay are also good for adding extra flavour as is a good dolop off butter.

Noodles are a bit of a blank canvas like pizza or sandwiches, so many things you can add!

Just run satchel under hot tap for 10s.. It doesn't need to be overly hot to make it flow. Ditto the soy in some noodles

          • @majord: @majord That's a good idea I will defintely give this a go, thanks :)

          • @majord: last night I put it under hot water and the oil changed very quickly, thanks:)

Pro tip: hold the congealed oil packet against the side of your hot saucepan/kettle for 10s as the water boils and the congealed oil will melt.

  • How do these compare to the normal ones?

    • I personally prefer the original ones.
