Damn, so many deals on these at the moment. Makes me think I'll get it even cheaper if I hold off for a month or so.

    • +19

Yes, typical OZb mentality, "hmmm let me hold off for a month and then whinge when the price does not actually go down". Questions like "Rep, can you please repeat the price from last month?"

Just pull the trigger and buy one mate.

        • +34

Great idea… and lets not support the guys who are actually trying get you the lowest price to start with.

      • Truth!

        • No one can predict the future, so there's no telling WHEN it will be this price again.

          Factors I'd consider though:
          - Impulse v.s. rational purchase
          - black friday is coming soon

      • Nothing wrong with a fella wanting to blow his load a lil later…

    • +2

Going overseas in Jan. so might hold back until 60 days before departure to get TRS

    • +2

The 1000XM2 deals went from being really good and semi-regular to pretty poor and very sparse. This is a really good price for Sony's premier consumer noise cancelling and wireless headphones. Buy them now if you're actually considering it.

  • +4

Don't we just love price wars!!

  • +1

WTH the price going down so quick.

  • -1

are they Australian Stock? the seller only has 49 feedback

    • +1

They are, they have a brick and mortar stores across several states.

The price is also updated on their site however obviously no eBay 5% discount.
      https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/headphones/produc…

    • Copied from their website

As authorised resellers of our brands, all of our stock is purchased from the authorised Australian distributors, meaning that all products sold are covered by the full Australian warranty. No grey imports, no worries. And once all is said and done, rest with the knowledge that our after-sales service is second to none.

    • Yep I bought a record player from their website. Best price and free express shipping - came next day.
      Very happy, would recommend.

    • +2

I've been shopping with them for years. They're legit. A bit upsellish in store with over priced cables, but other than that they're fantastic. I'd pick them over any other store to be honest.

      • +3

        Dr. Boom doe.

        • +2

Thanks for the reminder to have a laugh attheir Google reviews!

        • NO MORE

      • Thanks, I pulled the trigger myself - seeing a number of positive comments here. Hopefully not all shills haha. Very good deal, and I'm super excited to take the step up from my ATH-ANC9s.

    • +3

They are the best when it comes to headphones. I have been buying from them for around a decade.

  • Dang, almost pulled the trigger at $405.
I bet some people are kicking themselves right now - they jumped too early.

    • "trigger"
      "kicking"
      "jumped"

      loved them

    • +2

Bought at the Qantas sale for $414 + 2000 points, and I'm definitely kicking myself. I didn't need them until later this year, should've waited.

      • it was mentioned on there numerous times, just hang on till release… there you go. But hopefully you are enjoying yours!

        • Haha I know, rookie mistake

  • -2

I'm not sure why ppl go nuts about slightly price drop from RRP. I would wait at least till hit the lower $300 mark.
Sony pricing usually way off the cost price except PS range.

    • +10

      Slight price drop?
These retail for $499.95 and latest version.

      • -8

So you would buy it for $499.95, if Sony's RRP was $799?

        • +2

You are trying move away from what u initially said and start new topic.

Anyway, in case they retail for 799 and selling for 499, I will look for other options in the market like bose and rate extra spent is worth it or not.

Most items have rrp depending on market trends, demand, quality and tech.

Why do people buy iphone so expensive compared to their actual cost price.
          Current price is good.
If you like it,buy. Else move on.

          • @EnALup: You can't compire iPhone pricing with Sony over the top RRP, Sony and retailers wishes they can sell at that price. Not even few months old, now it's almost 20% off?

It will sure under $350 before Xmas. Sony put the price so high so retailers can make bit of profit. Unfortunately, they are dreaming. I bet the cost price for these unit somewhere around $250?. I'm not stopping you from buying it, it's your money but I think to be a good deal, this should be around $300 based on the M2 track record and competition from Bose.
            RRP usually a trap.

            • @boomramada: People here are smart enough not to fall for RRP, but it is not something we decide how much it should be for products. It might be $250 next year or may be less…

  • Finally pulled the trigger…

  • Wow!!
Wish same price during 10% Ebay sale

  • Paypal gift card anyone?

    • Just used them all up for this…. only have $230 of them left though.

      • +1

All right. Guess I have to lend a helping hand out again. Yes just send me those coupons. I’ll get rid of them for you.

  • This would be great when vacuuming the house

    • Funny I actually this on when vacuuming the house. It was almost silent while listening to some quiet music.

  • Yep, pulled the trigger too. I'm happy with this price, although no doubt it will come down. Upgrading from the first gen QC35's so looking forward to these. Also saved another whole 1% with Cash Rewards too. Cheers OP.

  • Oh no… Shit.. wish i waited. I bought for $400 from mobileciti with 10% off paypal gift cards.

Could have gotten this for under 300 after gst refund.

  • bought. thanks op

  • This code can't be applied to your order.

  • Any ebay coupons to further reduce the price?

    • +4

You can get 2 for $356.40 each using "PACK20" I believe, but you'll have to find someone to get another one with you.

      • Just got two for this price, perfect for both myself and partner for our trips to Japan soon. Thanks for posting this up :)

  • +6

Big flaw. Have to disconnect every time we want to connect to another paired device. Very big flaw. You have to navigate to phone setting, disconnect headphones to be able to connect to laptop afterward.

    • I keep thinking wireless headphones would be cool but then I kept getting reminded how much a pain it would be to swap from desktop to laptop to phone etc.

    • +2

Just turn Bluetooth off on your phone for a little bit while it connects to the laptop? That's how I swap Bluetooth stuff between devices.

      • The issue is that my phone and my laptop always connect to other speakers and device like fitbit, keyboard, surface pen…turn it off to switch….omfg Sony seriously.

Navigating through laptop bluetooth killing me.

        • Hahaha yeah. I find other stuff reconnect pretty fast usually no issues. I've got a fitness tracker too. No s-pen though.

    • +2

This is why I went with Bose, it's so bloody good at managing this.

      • I bought the QC35II without even researching into this but glad I did now. The transition between devices is seamless!

    • Use nfc. Tap phone to headset

    • Bought the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 from the previous deal by addictedtoaudio. They seamlessly transition between devices.

  • Good price consider this is the latest model.

  • +5

Managed to get JB to 'price match' at $379. No wait and from a physical store.

    • I couldn’t even get the 5% off, so I think I might cancel and pick up today from JBs.

    • addictedtoaudio have physical stores as well. I recently bought a Schiit Magni 3 at their Adelaide store. Excellent service.

      • If they were doing the extra 5% off in store when I bought I would have gone. JB were cheaper physical store at the time.

  • +2

This is my lucky day. I got it for $356 with an instant eBay discount code.

  • I can't find a comparison on the quality of this to the Beats Pro v2 (no longer for sale)

  • +1

Anyone at Brisbane/North suburbs wanna get the headset with the PACK20 discount coupon?

    • My new best mate. Bose oops Sony buddies!

  • Anyone know if we can buy from their eBay store and get the trs discount?

    • +1

We invoice everything with a tax invoice so just message us and we can send you a copy of the invoice :)

      • If I pop by the Kew store in Vic do you reckon they can give me the $376 price in store? Save me having to go through eBay and can get the tax invoice then and there?

        • Unfortunately not in store :(

The extra discount is through eBay only, not through us, sorry!

  • So tempting

  • +2

I have this but I can't tell much different with my $69 taotronics. I might be missing something. Unfortunately I can't return it.

    • Ouch, I have and love my Taotronics, but bought this as a treat for a long flight coming up.
I hope I have a better experience than you.

  • +1

The harvey norman sale is until the 28th, so surely another retailer can top this off even more?!

    • +1

I'm just going to sit and wait for it to hopefully drop back down to $350 ish mark again.

      • Buy 2 with a OZB bargain. $357 each then.

  • If anyone wants a pair, i ordered 2, only need 1. Pick up in Lidcombe or Berala Station, inner west, Sydney. Cash only. 375$. I cancelled but they already shipped my ebay order and I have to return it at my own expense so im reluctant. It will be here Tuesday to Friday, you can have the first pair if youre in a rush. Send me a PM if Interested.

    • -3

It’s only $320 if you use the PACK20 code on eBay…

      • Can you do math? It is $356.40 each for one. It is 20% off one pair. Anyway the saving of $1.20 is farcical given the transport costs (car, train etc.) to get to Lidcombe or Berala.

        • +1

Ahaha yeah I thought it was 20% off

  • Damn, I'm going overseas in 63 days. Hopefully the deal is still available in 4 days…

  • +3

Almost read that eBay code as Pi55OFF

  • +1

Jesus the 1 thing I decide to grab early because they rarely go down in price judging from previous models and bam! How the hell is it so low so quick! And why doesnt this happen with everything!

  • I currently have sony mdr 1000x and qc35(i prefer sony mdr 1000x as i reckon it has better noise cancelling), is that any worth of upgrading compare with sony mdr 1000x in terms of better noise cancelling effect?

    any one? Thanks

    • +1

Review said it’s amazingly a world better than our first generation.

      • +1

do you have any link for that review? I would love to see some, trying my best to resist this deal, apparently I am not doing really well on that. I am also interested with nuraphone, donno if that is any better in terms of sound quality.

  • The hell, gone down so quickly, got it at$405 also

  • +1

There has always been a frenzy on these headphone with the xm2s starting it off. Pricing for that got down to about $270. When ever you decide to buy it, it will be cheaper next week. Good market competition on these. Even Sonys outlet in NSW seem to push some random cheap prices on the previous. Its a question of whether you can wait and how long it will take to get to the sub $300. It took about a yearr 9-10 months for the xm2 to get that low. As soon as it was on here they were gone..

My advice. Wait till end of year for Xmas sales, Black Friday.. If you dont have the patience or need them now then your just going to pay more. AA. Highly recommend. But they will offer cheaper.
    Ly
I have the Xm2s and are really happy with it. Ill wait for the Xm4 or 5 . Hopefully better bluetooth connection between devices, More premium look as personally I think the Xm3 is a downgrade in look to previous model, App needs to allow personal equalizing when on high audio listening. Minor items. As generations go these are going to be the perfect NC headphone.

Come on Bose. They are falling behind. Punch a new model out.

  • +7

Due to the overwhelming number of requests in regards to in-store purchasing, we are now going to offer the additional 5% off in store, but only if you ask!

However, we still cannot offer eBay collection via click and collect, this is only for in store purchases and the additional 5% is provided ONLY for customers who mention this.

Make sure to give the local store at call before coming to make sure they have stock!

    • +2

      Very generous!

  • I could do with a great pair of BT noise canceling amplified cans to listen to audio from an android tablet on our plane flights and at home when the missus is watching TV.

The What Hifi test was full of praise them mentioned they were good for phone calls. I don't want to use them for this. Is the fact they're used for calls a minus for what I want?

    • +1

I dont understand your question. If you do not use or care for the phone call access then just don't use that feature of headphone. Supposedly the Xm3 calling is better as the mics are directional, but haven't heard any real comments on that yet.. When Ive used my xm2s for calls the caller thought it was fine from their end. I thought it was ok. Yes so good wireless NC headphones.

      • If you don't understand my concern, you've answered that it possibly doesn't exist, I was wondering if I'd be paying for a facility which may not exist on some other dedicated HiFi headphones.

The last time I bought a pair of HiFi headphones was 40 years ago - Sennheiser, long gone to their grave.

        Thanks :o)

        • +3

There is no alternative to this that doesn't have a microphone. I'd wager the calling functionality doesn't cost much more than a dollar to add so I wouldn't worry about paying for it!

          • +1

            @callum9999: Exactly.
The microphone is needed for Noise Cancelling feature to work.
I think it even doesn't add any material cost (only design and software/firmware/programming cost, which is not much anyway when spread over million of other similar product) to this headphone to have calling functionality.

  • Does anyone know how is the XM3 compare to the Backbeat Pro 2 sound wise? I found the Plantronics is very good.

  • Anyone have any idea how much a lightly used pair of QC25s would go for? Would like to sell then to help the upgrade cost.

  • Bought a pair, nice to get in early and buy something hot for a change instead of waiting for the bargains. I doubt this will get below say $325 in the next year so just jumped in. The prices in Australia are just too good for this, these are retailing for approx. $600 everywhere in the UK.

  • +3

Just bought at Harvey Norman for $374.40 including one year additional Product Care (as the Rep said it adds a further discount). Addtional $50 off using Amex promo = $324.40 and TRS of $37.44 = $286.96 :)
