Got mine for $215 and 2000 QFF back in August. I'm no audiophile but they're very good and convenient. Quick pairing. Comfortable. Less invasive design and colour than the Airpods. The case which gives them extra battery life is fantastic despite some people struggling to figure out how to open it. Only wish you could choose to have single audio output to each ear, rather than just the right.

I got the non-active version and although they sound good but they aren’t that comfortable and causes ear wax around the earphone.

    • +6

Pretty sure that is not what caused the ear wax, clean your ears out buddy.

      • Lol

    • I had the same problem and changed to the smaller ear tips. Problem gone. Great quality audio and no issues so far.

  • How is the mic for calls? I think this is the weak point for airpods; I don't like how others sound on them.

  • +1

These are shit for phone calls. The mic picks up ALL background noise so people cannot hear a word you are saying. Had to return them.

    • +2

I've only used them for calls once but it was outdoors and windy and the person who was interstate said that they could hear me clearly.

    • +1

I use these a lot for calls both indoors and outdoors and I've never had anyone complain about background noise.

I've had meetings on the bus with them and people can sort of work out i'm on the bus but never complain they can't hear me.

All in all i got these at no cost via Qantas points. Absolutely love them, good sound, great fit once you find the right tip and I run weekly with these with no issue of them falling out.

Highly recommend using the pass through though for running, really blocks out a lot of noise with the right tips. Looked into comfly tips for them but lots of issues with them breaking within the first month.

Only negative would be the volume is on the lower side compared to other earphones I have owned. In saying that i haven't ever needed to run them at full volume for a long time and that includes public transport, planes etc.

    • It must have something to do with the fit or phone you're connecting with because I had the same problem when trying the wifes pair on my Note 8 - she uses it daily with no issues so weird.

    • Just like all of them

  • How good are they when used to watch YouTube? Is there any lag?

    • +2

No lag what so ever, I have owned them for a few months. Not had a single issue.

Down to $200 with the AMEX offer if you can find a $1 item to add on. Been looking at these for a while and I'm very tempted, does anyone think there will be a price that beats $200 over xmas?

  • +1

Less $50 with AmEx Cashback after adding $1 item

    • thanks mate!

  • according to Head-fi they just sound OK in the TWE category. they pick up a lot of background noise when talking. Only IQbud boost has the directional noise isolating mic if that's what you're after but they cost like $500-$600.

  • FYI, I managed to save a whopping $2 in the live chat

  • If anyone has the option of waiting a while and does not have AMEX, Amazon AU currently sells for $249, which can then apply APP15 promo code to drop to $234. Only catch is that it is currently not in stock, but you have the option to pay first, which then they will ship immediately after stock returns.
