Looks good, I've used a Nostromo SpeedPad n52 for about 15 years, it's very similar, HUGE improvement over a keyboard for gaming IMO…

Edit: looking at the sales it appears that seller might price-jack, the normal price is often $11 less… so the 20% off works out the same as 10% off their normal price…

Oof , that's why I dislike small stores. No dignity. Just moneytraps grabgrabgrab , lol.

      • +2

It's still a good price but I don't like to encourage price jacking or other manipulative behavior, so I'll give it a miss…

  • For anyone interested, there is a kickstarter being run by cooler master that is a analog 24 key gamepad.

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolermaster/controlpad…

I've backed it to try the keypad out with arcade racing games like wreckfest and Trackmania.

Delivery date is middle of next year though, with payment due Nov 25 this year. It's already fully backed.

    • Wouldn't you be better off buying a Wooting One so you don't have to play on a numberpad though?

      • Kewl, didn't know about that one.

    • wow thats pretty amazing

what technology are they using to allow pressure sensitive keys

is it just a combination of mechanical switches with software magic or custom switches

      ergnomics look crap tho

      • From the page,

" How do we accomplish analog control in a mechanical switch? We measure how far down the mechanical switch is pressed using an infrared LED. The light emitted from the LED is reflected off the bottom of the key and an infrared sensor measures how much light is reflected. If a low amount of light is reflected we know that the key is at its highest point. If a higher amount of light is reflected, we know that the key is moving closer to the sensor. "

I actually like the ergonomics of it. But I more want it so that I can use it with my odd technique for arcade racing games. I use arrow keys on a normal keyboard currently, and I use my index and middle finger of my left hand, on the up and down arrows, and thus forward and brake. And I use my index and middle finger of my right hand, on the left and right arrows, and thus steer left and right.

That said, the ergonomics match a numberpad, and lots of people use that for excel and such, so it can't be too bad for a broad group of people. It wouldn't suit everyone, but thats ok :)

        • its more about that missing thumb control for spacebar or a analog joystick

this just looks like lazy design

          smart tech but lazy

  • Razer are overpriced RGB rats, add the pricejacking of the seller, you're not really getting a 'bargain'.

Except of course that it's cheaper than anywhere else by a decent margin…

  • I had the V1 and I couldn't reach all the keys comfortably.
