  • How to keep the video footage if the camera and memory card get stolen?

    • +5

      Chinese Embassy might help

      • maybe the military.. thru Super Micro..

    • Can't you hook it upto an NVR

      • I have an existing Swan set which the night video quality is terrible and thinking of getting a sole operational camera like this. I don't know if there is any chance this isn't compatible to my existing Swann NVR as I am a noob in this area.

        • i do not think Ezviz cam will work with Swann. But it can work standalone by recording on the micro sd card.

    • if you connected a NVR, plus insert a sd, then you shall have two copies of footage. sd card only save the motion trigger video, and NVR will record 24/7.

      • There isn't any compatibility issue with the NVR that is Swann branded? Just hook it up and it will work? Can I set motion recording for both NVR and micro SD? It is easier for me to look for the motion recorded 'events' only when incidents happen.

        • Ezviz Cam only work with ezviz nvr or Hikvision nvr, as it is manufactured by Hikvision. yes, you can configure the Ezviz NVR as motion recording mode.

@ozhappiness: Thanks for the reply but I have already spent $1500 to have to Swann set installed and don't want to spend $2000+ more to get another Hikvision/ Ezviz set installed.

            • @wtfnodeal: Have a look at blue iris. Can we installed on any pc with some grunt.

Am running 6 dahua starlight cams on a gen 4 i7 and cpu is less than 25% in use on average.

These dell optiplex devices are worth their money as a NVR.

            • @wtfnodeal: It was your choice to invest $1500 on Swann, if you'd gone Hikvision or a decent brand (preferably one that doesn't push all your video to China) to start with this situation wouldn't have happened. Harsh but true.

        • Try a free software called zone alarm if I am not wrong… There was another one of which I don't remember the name very well.

Try a free software called zone alarm if I am not wrong

            You mean ZoneMinder?

            • @O O: I think you are right

    • Which has been fixed in a firmware update :\

  • Cheap and nasty, better off with DS-2CD2185FWD-I or the 5mp version.

  • Any good prices /recommendations on cameras with POE + PTZ or POE + dome varifocal lens?
