$2800 for an 2018 OLED using last year's technology or $2100 for the Panasonic with a better picture? I'm really not sure how Sony get away with it. I assume that they don't really and it's only the foolish do.

You think the panasonic's are better than the Sony A1 and now the A8? based on what?

  • is the A8F the best OLED TV in the market?

    • No I believe that would be the a9f

      • Agreed. That is the A9F at a current eye watering price point.

  • User of LG OLED and Sony A1E

Suggest people who are interested in OLED search HDTV test on youtube to get more info.

    Short version:

A9F currently almost is the best OLED TV, however the input lag is not as great as LG, also very high price tag. Pic is hardly noticeable.

A8F and A1E both suffer some dimming issues, if you play a lot of games like FIFA, think twice. LG do not have this issue.

LG have better Dolby Vision performance. Also Atmos support. Better HDR performance, and better OS.

I would suggest go to LG C8 rather than A8F and A1E. However I got my A1E at 2999 deal. At this price it can justify the performance. If similar priced, I will go to LG next time.

    • Wow about the burn in issues? I game a lot, would OLED be a problem?

In terms of design the A9F is just wow!!

      • It has been discussed by rtings, you can view more info there.

In general, I own OLED for 2 years plus, with few hours gaming per day, no issues.

Depends on your hud though, if you only play one game with fixed gaming HUD it may become an issue, also depends on the environment, in bright room for HDR performance you better go LED
