Westpac Altitude Black/ Priority Pass

I have the Card for a few years now and despite having been travelling overseas a few times, I was never able to use the Priority Pass for a myriad of reasons. Just thought maybe I should downgrade my card to save paying that hefty fees.

So I rang them up and kind of was threatened that once I downgrade, I cant go back up; My current income wont support it.

So here's a question to the Brains Trust: have you been able to use the Priority Pass successfully? Is it worthwhile to keep the Card for this privilege?

I've used Priority Pass from Citibank Signature in Bali and London. Not the best lounges but a place to eat and relax nonetheless. Also brought my partner in for USD 27.

Is this available to all Citibank Signature card holders? I tend to ignore a lot of the benefit notices spam they send me.

        From PointHacks:

"The way this works in practice is that you’ll receive a promotional pack from Citi with a Priority Pass access code soon after receiving your card in the mail. The code then lets you sign up for the relevant membership from Priority Pass."

I had this card for a year, and managed to use the PP $36 credit you get for some places at a cafe at Brisbane airport one time. I usually only travel by air a few times a year though, so maybe not a great data point.

I have been using my 2 free visits yearly that Comes with my citi signature.

What sort of issues stop you from using yours?

    • First I only do international travel a couple of times a year
I find the lounge hard to find, or far away from Entry or check-in counter
And transit/waiting time is not that long and by the time we work out what we want to do, minus toilet stops, not much time left.

  • just for reference, I believe the minimum income to get that card is $75,000 gross p.a.

    • Good to know. We are semi/quarter retired now so income-poor :-(

  • Good to know this exists. I got one a few months ago and had no idea I could access it.

Except the link on the Westpac site goes to a 404.

  • It depends on which cities you fly into and out of. Some lounges in Rome were rubbish, but on the other hand some others are quite good.

Nothing beats a shower before flying home from a hot tropical day.

Have used the PP a few times. As above, a shower and somewhere nice to sit when transiting on a long haul flight is worth it.
