Hi everyone,

First post so please be gentle!

I came across this while doing some furniture shopping.

West Elm are having a 20% off sale on your first item. With 10% cash rewards this makes it a pretty good discount; worth a look.

Personally I haven't bought from West Elm before but I hear it has good quality pieces of furniture.

Happy shopping everyone!

Recently bought quite a bit of new furniture from West Elm so I'll share some thoughts.

    • You can ALWAYS get 10% off. Just sign up an account online and new users get 10% off on their first order. There is no validation so you can keep doing it for future orders.
    • For the last 2 months they've been going on sale a lot. Didn't pay attention before if they always do this, but one of the item I bought dropped in price 2 weeks after I bought it. Went back in store to complain and apparently they have a price match policy so they'll happily refund you, i think it was up to 4 weeks. So keep an eye out for a month after you made a purchase.
    • Quality is pretty good. I don't get why people would bother getting a sofa from Ikea when the prices can be quite similar at West Elm esp during discount periods like right now. It looks a lot better and material is much sturdy than Ikeas.
    • Shipping is where the pain is. Warehouse is in Sydney and usually takes 1-2 weeks before they arrive if you're in Melbourne.

We also bought a fair bit - pays to join their FB page or mailing list as they will have a 20% sale for the whole store 2x a year, and at least 20% off certain departments at other times. If you have your eye on something just wait 2-3 months if you can for the right sale price to come up. We've been pretty happy with the lighting we got from them, only issue is they had no idea what globes their lighting uses. Told us our pendants would be E27 and they ended up needing E14. Big difference.
