  • Yep - stocked up on Olay at Coles but that's fine as 50% off is better!

Inf your experience, does LRP ever go below 20% off? I guess with the 40% off skincare sales if it's included? I use the anthelios 50spf face sunscreen but it's pretty expensive.

I've seen La Roche-Posay at 30% off at Chemist warehouse before. Yeah heard good things about their face sunscreen but haven't tried it yet personally.

Edit: Currently 25% off at Chemist Warehouse

      • Thanks! I really like it except for the bottle dispense. Would love a pump instead. What sunscreen do you use?

I have got a couple open at the moment, on days when I'm in a hurry and not going to be exposed to much sun I'd just use the Olay Complete Defence Daily UV Moisturising Lotion Sensitive SPF 30 to combine moisturiser and sunscreen. I also have a tube of Sekkisei White UV Gel open that I got from Japan, which I'd use to boost sun protection by layering over my day moisturisers with lower SPF (like 15).

There are so many SPF50 sunscreens on my to try list, including:

          • Neutrogena Hydro Boost SPF 50
          • Nivea Sun Uv Face Shine Control SPF 50
          • Natio Daily Defence Face Moisturiser SPF 50+
          • SunSense Sensitive Invisible SPF 50+
          • BIORE UV Aqua Rich Sunscreen Watery Essence
          • Coles face sunscreen SPF 50 - believe it or not, it is supposedly very good according to Labmuffin.

La Roche-Posay is on the expensive end of the scale so I'd probably try some of the above first :P

Sunscreens for the face just keep getting better and better, unlike in the old days when you'd look like a greaseball.

          • @moocher: that Biore UV aqua rich is the best!!! I'm keen to try the neutrogena hydro boost too however i think it'll take me awhile to go thru all the biores that i've stocked up from Japan lol

EDIT: i've tried the la roche posay sunscreen - i have to say it is not for me. It cakes and rubs off under 30 mins and i can't put any make up over it. for ref i use toner and moisturiser before i use the sunscreen.

off topic but the ordinary's HA+B5 also cakes and rubs off for me. does that happen to anyone else??!

            • @jussie2000: Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the Biore sunscreen. So many people rave about it. :)

Do you mind sharing your skin type?

When you say it cakes and rubs off, do you mean pilling/balling? Like you get gritty bits that rub off.

I haven't used TO's HA but I do get pilling with their niacinamide, depending on what I put on afterwards.

              • +1

@moocher: Yes! I get pilling/balling with both products but used separately. It was intolerable so i had to let them go :(
My friend said it means it's not being absorbed into the skin.
I have sensitive and combination skin so t-zone gets pretty oily after midday. I've recently started retinoid (neutrogena brand) and it's been great! And also just bought EUK from The Ordinary lol

@moocher: I used Biore UV Aqua Rich sunscreen for ages, I love it. Stocked up on it last time I went to Japan but that was a year or so ago so I used up my stocks. I'd definitely get it again.

I don't use moisturiser/SPF as I don't think it's as effective and we're pretty much already getting high UV days.

I used the SunSense for a while but didn't like the finish, it was similar to Invisible Zinc from recollection (or maybe it was the scent).

I'll definitely look in to the Hydro Boost sunscreen next time Neutrogena goes on a good sale. Especially as it has HA as an ingredient. And the Coles one sounds good too.

@em: Ha ha another win for the Biore UV Aqua Rich! Sounds like i need to move it to the top of my list…

Thanks for the feedback on Sunsense too. I suspected it wouldn't be as elegant cosmetically.

BTW if anyone is interested, I found labmuffin's sunscreen review spreadsheet really useful. Michelle's Australian so she's tried many products available here and she's very knowledgeable about the sunscreen ingredients.

  • Can we price match Sukin at Priceline with half price at Good Pharmacy?

    • I've never tried price-matching at Priceline, maybe others will know.

    • +1

Yes, I did that today and they were happy to match the price.
