      • There's a book on that called The Dawkins Delusion

        • +5

Yep, and it holds just as much credibility as the Bible, ie. None

      • +2

They are just trying save you **and doing what the higher ups told them to do so it brings in more money for the church

Science as we know it - empirical observation and experiment - did not exist until about 500 years ago.
The ancients had mathematics and philosophy, but no science.

You cannot expect the bible to have something that had not been invented yet.
… unless it had some sort of divine inspiration. That would be awesome! What if Genesis had accurately described the solar system, thousands of years before the invention of the telescope? Would that be proof of God? But proof denies faith. And without faith God is nothing.

So lets look at Genesis - flat earth, with the sky a dome holding back the waters above. (sky is blue like the sea, so makes sense, right?)
      Slightly disappointing.

      • +2

So lets look at Genesis - flat earth …

Does Genesis say Earth is flat?

        • +1

The bible says there is ainvisible guy watching over you all the time, when you taking a shower, when you are in the toilet, when you are having sex …..

He is also right next to you all the time
He also read all your thought all the time.

          • +7

            @Entropy Sky:

The bible says there is ainvisible guy watching …….. when you are having sex ….

Confirmed, many times I've heard his name called while sinning.

            • @bm: Have also heard heard his name repeated on the toilet, after a night of sinful indulgence.

          • +4

@Entropy Sky: he is all powerful and all loving, yet does nothing to stop any pain or suffering in the world.

        • +4

No, but it does say such 'scientifically accurate' things as demons being driven from 'possessed' men and into pigs. And a man being swallowed by a sea creature and living inside for days. This is not science - it is fable.

Does Genesis say Earth is flat?

"The ancient Israelites envisaged a universe made up of a flat disc-shaped earth floating on water, heaven above, underworld below.[6] Humans inhabited earth during life and the underworld after death, and the underworld was morally neutral;[7] only in Hellenistic times (after c.330 BCE) did Jews begin to adopt the Greek idea that it would be a place of punishment for misdeeds, and that the righteous would enjoy an afterlife in heaven."

you will learn each side of the debate

Believe what you want, but this is very very unlikely.

  • Great deal! Thanks OP

  • +1

OP, you should put "Jr" in the title.

Dr. Robert M Bowman was his far more famous father, the founding archbishop of the United Catholic Church, and prominent "9/11 Truther".
Brilliant guy, was an early critic of the SDI. But got a bit batshit crazy in his later years. I hope his son is a little more grounded.

The bible has nothing to do with science. Its the book of sky faeries for those who cannot accept what is. The title says "Science and the bible" it should be a very short essay. no deal.

Believe in yourself people, not imaginary friends.

This is advertising fiction, not a bargain

  • Don't peddle this brainwashing shit on OzB. Go back to your churches and your sheep.

  • +5

This course is advertising for a cause. Promotion of ideas. Not a balanced discussion. Not a bargain.

  • Moderators keep refusing to do the right thing and ban such blatant advertising. Shame on them!

  • The $45 normal price smacks of those ebay stores that up the price as a placeholder when they have none in stock.

gto21 Have you seen this short clip called "Evolution vs God"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0u3-2CGOMQ

    • +2

Yes, I've watched it. I like Ray Comfort approach, simple and easy to understand for most people. Whereas some arguments used for example by William Lane Craig is too complex for most people to understand. I like Willaim Lane Craig; he is great. Another movie I watched by Ray Comfort "The Atheist Delusion Movie (2016)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChWiZ3iXWwM&list=PLF7A795CE0…

  • Greetings to all the angry neggers here. I would welcome some debate on the Bible and science or how the Word of God can and does change peoples lives for the better.

There are countless examples of the christian faith transforming society and people to a better place.

I am certain you neggers are unaware of the science in the bible and a lot of you have been misled and deceived by the burnt out modern youtube atheist.

I understand many of you are hurt by religion and hyprocrites. Don't let this cloud your judgement.

    • +1

Greetings to all the angry neggers here.

      Greetings to you too.

People may appear angry, I'm sure many are frustrated by ignoramuses peddling sky fairies.

It's upon the asserter to prove the existence of something, there's no room in an intelligent and civilized society for support of institutionalised pedos, discrimination, racism and genocide.

      • Hi bm,
I disagree society is civilised and doesn’t discriminate in terrible ways.
This is due to a denial of science and reality.
I would like to engage in a discussion/debate.

Otherwise I’m happy to tell you things you need to know and share the truths of the Gospel with you.

        • +1

share the truths of the Gospel with you.

          Shortest conversation in history.

          • -1

@bm: Bm My offer is a dual offer.

A challenge to debate/discuss bible and science and how christians do science right or just a friendly gospel message.

I’m trying to inform you since you lack vital information and I believe have ignorance about this topic.

"Creation science is a religious belief and not a branch of scientific thought. Therefore, it is not appropriate to teach this subject in the context of science." RONALD JENSH, Mar 9, 1987.

If Ron Jensh implies no deal…no deal!

    • -1

Believers have been strongholds of scientific discovery and truths
Even right now it can be demonstrated easily

Forget about poor guru Ronnie Jensh. I am certain he was uninformed.

Were you interested in debate or learning more of the wonderful truths of the Gospel?

  • This time of the week again is it? Not a bargain. Nor were any of the others.

    • These are actually good. I’m certain you haven’t tried any.
All these negs don’t qualify under the rules only in your hurt and or angry minds.
I’m glad you came here to neg and comment so I have a chance to reach out to you.

Would you like to learn some truths and avoid being uninformed?

I listened to the first lecture yesterday. Interestingly, he refuted some of the comments on this post. It's not bad at all. First time,I listened to him.
