Hi all first time posting so please bear with me :)

Found this to be a decent deal at just $80.10 delivered with the current increased 10% cashback from Cashrewards!

Alternatively, you could bring it down to only $69 if you have McDonald's monopoly $20 Amazon AU discount voucher!

Product description from Amazon:
'2TB Expansion - The Seagate Expansion portable drive is compact and perfect for on-the-go. Instantly add more storage space to your computer and take large files with you when you travel. Setup is simple and straightforward; simply connect a single USB cable and you are ready to go. The drive is powered from the USB cable, so there is no need for an external power supply. Plus, it is automatically recognized by the Windows operating system, so there is no software to install and nothing to configure. Saving files is easy simply drag-and-drop. Take advantage of the fast data transfer speeds with the USB 3.0 interface by connecting to a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port. USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 for additional system compatibility.'

Enjoy!

  • Has anyone else had issues with getting cashrewards accepted with amazon

It can take time for the cashback to track within your Cashrewards account. Make sure you don't have adblock running before you click through from the Cashrewards page. Give it a week, and if it still doesn't track, just shoot through a cashback claim to them with your invoice and they should be happy to add it manually in for you - At least that what they did for me in the past :)

Title should be amount without cashrewards, as cashrewards can be hit and miss with amazon

        • Thanks - already edited by the Mod :)

      • I got rejected as amazon didnt approve it

Most importantly, you need to add the item AFTER you click through the Cashrewards link. Learned this the hard way.

      • yep no items in cart before clicking CR link. I do this with ebay - login to the correct account, go to the product page, don't add it to cart, close ebay tab, go to CR, click through to ebay where i'm already logged in, add item to cart from "your recently viewed" then away. I imagine theres a good way to do this on amazon too.

  • This is the price they were selling for 5-6 years ago.

Its taken that long to get back to normal prices…

Yep I remember buying 2tb wd/seagate 3.5 and 2.5in external drives only to gut them and put into desktop's when they were $79 ea. That was in 2011-2013 - granted they were only usb 2.0 interfaces in the enclosures but it didn't matter as we just wanted to gut them anyway! When they inevitably died within warranty period we just reassembled them in the OEM enclosure and did warranty return at POS.

    • So it would seem but the invisible hand of inflation means the same dollars amount buys less in theory.

    • Will they pricematch?

Tempted to use my McD voucher. With Cashrewards 10% back from $68, brings it down to $61.20

    • What's this McDonalds voucher everyone has mentioned? Did I miss the boat?

      • The Maccas promotion is still going and some people are selling theirs on the ozbargain forums or eBay for $5-10. These vouchers expire March 2019 :)

  • USB drives can be used for an extra copy at your main workstation and/or as a copy you back up to, then disconnect and keep at another location.

  • Any idea why I cant use my Monopoly voucher? Is it only once per Amazon account? I've used one before.

    • The voucher itself can only be redeemed once - but if you have multiple vouchers I don't think there should be an issue with using more than one in your account. Either the voucher has been used or there is an issue with the voucher you received - I suggest contacting Amazon to see what they say :)
