Boost has just revamped its $30 & $40 prepaid plans with data up from 6GB & 15GB respectively. Considering they utilise Telstra's 4G network, this is an incredible deal. I was on Boost for years, then moved to Virgin Mobile 12 months ago and regretted it. Been back a month and love the coverage and service. For me personally, nothing beats Telstra. And remember, this is a month-on-month prepaid option with no lock in contracts. Enjoy :)

$30 (no contract) gets you unlimited calls & texts, 23GB 35GB data (first 5 recharges, then 12GB), unlimited* minutes to 10 countries, 100 minutes to 40 countries, 100 texts to 50 countries, free Apple Music streaming, and unused data rollover. $40 (no contract) gets you unlimited calls & texts, 33GB data (first 5 recharges, then 22GB), unlimited* minutes to 15 countries, 100 minutes to 35 countries, 100 texts to 50 countries, free Apple Music streaming, and unused data rollover.

Note: Pricing is for 28 days, but choosing auto-recharge provides full month as recharge is set for the same day of each month.

From fine print:

For new Boost Anytime Plus customers only who activate or swap to Boost Anytime Plus from 30 October 2018. First recharge by 25 February 2019, with remaining recharges by 30 June 2019.

Update 16/11: Now + 23GB Bonus on first 5 recharges

      I'm watching you, TheAbyss.

  • Hey all, my current service expires in 2 weeks. Can i grab the sim now and then activate then? will the promo still be active?

    Cheers!

    • +1

Looks as though it's not just a promo. They've just upped their data allowance. I haven't signed up for anything and my data allowance says 12gb for the $30 offer.

  • @TA - you have done great deals and i have been following you for a long time, let nothing hold you back, whingers will be whingers… great post !

  • +1

Thanks TA. Been waiting for a good deal on the Telstra network and this one ticks the boxes for me. ( I actually missed the post by StrayfireX because I was looking for a $30 plan.)

  • +2

    TA, thanks for the tip,
I am an existing boost $30 customer and i rang and checked, i dont get the extra allowance but as an existing customer my next recharge i get 12 gig automatically.
    cant complain about that.
for those concerned re tax, note your credit card statement shows up as telstra for your recharge.
if you have a look at the bit below from the link below, i wouldn't stress about it.

I see a lot of people get it wrong this time of year — they think because they didn’t keep their receipts, there’s nothing they can claim — but this is easy to tackle, because if you handed over your credit or debit card and you have a bank statement, that’s good enough,” she said.

“Head online and find your statement and find all the things you spent money on — whether it’s your phone, parking or tools, because the ATO says a statement is good enough proof.”

Go to the Boost App (or use #111#) and check if you're on the "Anytime Plus" plan. If not, you can change to this plan on your next recharge and get 12GB + 11GB bonus. Also, save your credit card details at the same time and select auto-recharge to get a full month from every recharge.

  • Awesome! do I have to purchase it through boost or can I just go in and buy a SIM from woolworths or somewhere?

  • Just one question - can you use personal hotspot with this sim/deal thx

    • +1

100%. I use it all the time when I travel :)

      • Today I got my boost sim card. But personal hotspot is grey out on my iphone and I can't enable it.
Are you sure boost is not disabling it?

  • Notes 28 day expiry which is slightly worse than say Woolies (30 day).

    Still a good deal though.

    • Actually, it's a full month if you set up auto recharge :)

      • Has this been confirmed? can't see it on the page anywhere?

        • +1

Yes, it's in the OP. I have it set up on my account. Recharge is on the 1st of each month for me :)

  • I'm presuming I can get a standard Boost Sim from anywhere and sign up to this?

  • Thanks. Will port the wife to this from Belong's $25 plan for 5gb.

  • If you don't recharge how long before the sim deactivates?

Eg if you went overseas and didn't recharge would you still be able to receive sms etc

    • +1

If you want to park your number then I would suggest buying an Aldi sim starter pack for $5.00 which lasts one year.
You can buy them in store or online.

  • Does this mob allow tethering for iPhone or you need to pay a fee?

    • +1

      What TA said above:

100%. I use it all the time when I travel :)

  • Is this a continuous data rollover like belong or just rollover to the next month?

    • Next month only.

      • But if your previous recharge was $40 and then you drop down to $30 the data still rolls over, right?

        • +1

Yup, that’s exactly what I did and remaining data rolled over :)

  • So this offer can be availed by February and the extra 11GB will be for 5 months Feb onwards? As my contract is expiring on December.

    • Looks like it

  • I see all the discussion at the start of the thread about the other deal. Are the offers actually the same thing, just that this post is for $30 plan and other is for $40.

Just want to make sure i'm not getting them confused with another offer.

And I can order now (with the $30 sim pack and not just the $2 one) and only activate after my contract runs up in a week or 2?

  • Does anyone know if I have a Telstra 4g modem, can I plug in this Sim card?

  • Hey can anyone tell me what the $30 sim trio starter kit includes? Is it just for the sim or will that count as a $30 recharge with the 23gb of data?

    • It has to count as a $30 recharge (I hope). They also sell a $2 sim only.

So i ordered the $30 pack assuming it was actually saving me $2 for the sim.

  • Aldi just upgraded their package to 12gb for $35 https://www.aldimobile.com.au/plans/value-packs/

    • +1

Boost might still be better at that level though. $30 a month gets you the 12GB and full telstra network. Different rollover etc though.

  • Just a bit of feedback after signing up. First SIM didn't work. Second one did but won't connect to 4G. Read a couple of posts about how being stuck on 3G is a problem. Now on hold to the "specialized team". Regretting switching from Aldi at the moment.

Update…just got disconnected from the chat as no one is available.

Hi 7hil. I had this EXACT issue!!! I ported back to Boost a month ago by buying a half-price $40 SIM from Coles. No matter what, it wouldn't lock onto 4G. Boost tried everything at their end, even saying there's no 4G in my area lol. Tried the SIM in different handsets - same thing. So I assumed the SIM could be faulty - nothing else made sense. I had Boost send me a new one (arrived overnight by express post), got it activated and number transferred in less than 1 minute - and hey presto, 4G!

      • +1

That's good to know. I'm pretty sure it's the SIM. Pain in the arse as this will be the second dodgy SIM. Maybe a bad batch. Luckily my wife works close so I'll try it in her phone to confirm. I actually got a better response calling them than I did on chat.

        • +1

Jump on chat and get them to send you one anyway. If you order before noon, you'll get it Monday. Or pick one up here.

  • They're posting me out a new one. Hopefully that fixes it.

    • +1

      It will :)

      • +1

Got my new SIM card. For the first minute it stayed on 3G, my heart sank, then up pops 4G. Finally!

        • Nice work :)

  • +1

For new customers, if a sim is purchased through cashrewards, you're eligible for following cash backs as well:

    • Cashback on $2 Prepaid SIM: $2.00
    • Cashback on $10 Prepaid SIM: $6.00
    • Cashback on $30 Prepaid SIM: $12.00
    • Cashback on $40 Prepaid SIM: $15.00
    • With some caveats including:

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

  • Hey, TA just wondering what happens if we don't use the automatic recharge option, how many days do we have until the number gets cuts out? Will it be 6 months?

    • Hey there. Honestly no idea. Suggest you jump on chat with them :)

  • Also, the bonus data is now 23GB instead of the 11GB

  • Curious if anyone knows if I can use a Boost sim to divert all my business landline calls to the Boost sim card and if there are any additional costs associated? or would it be included within the unlimited calls?

    • the cost will be on your landline account as you are diverting to a service that will be charged at a timed rate.
you would be better off converting your landline to voip and use an app on your smart phone for answering landline calls on your mobile, this way there will be no call charge as such.
