    • Can you recommend a faster phone?

      • Faster, they have already sold 135/pcs!

    • +1

Geez trolls aren't like they once were :(

    • I can throw phones faster than most people

  • +2

overpriced, but best overall phone on the planet

    officeworks/binglee price beat?

    • +6

pound for pound i don't see how this is overpriced based on what other players are bring to the table at their comparable price bracket.

    • Overpriced but it's the best? not sure how that works when completion costs $1k more…

    • I dont think they price match with coupons but its always worth a shot in asking.

  • Just get a price beat of becextech at Officeworks. $1072 that way

    • +1

I tried that, this is what they [O/W] replied with:

      "Hi 8200,

We can only price match with BecexTech if the goods are advertised as AU Stock or Australian Stock.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 does not specify this meaning it is a direct import or international model.

Unfortunately, we cannot price match against this particular phone on this website.

      Kind Regards,

      Officeworks"

Just do it in store. Me and my mate got it price matched at VIC in different stores.

      • I thought OW price match grey import now

      • I tried that too, it didn't work.
Most of the stores are running out of stock, and the one's who have are either few 100kms away from Sydney.

I did try my luck with them too(just in case) by talking to them over the phone, they refused to price match with BecexTech or any other seller not selling Australian Stock, different model number, or less than 2 year warranty.

        • Yeah they are running out of stock. My mates attempted price match at 3 stores and 2 turned him away. I went next day (last sunday) to one of the stores that he got rejected and price matched straight away with a different guy

    • How? Becextech sells the dual sim grey market model.

      • +3

Becextech looks genuine unlike mymobile who has "HK impprt" logos slapped all over the listing.

My attempt to price match was so easy. Heres how it went.

Me : I want to get a price match of Note 9 (Shows the becextech on my phone)

OW : (glances over phone screen but didnt read anything) Keep in mind those web sites charge a fortune for shipping.

Me : ah yeah that's alright its like $70

OW : Ok then let me grab one for you.

They didn't check anything on their devices. They asked me to show the shipping cost at the checkout. Thats it

Thanks oxymoron! Just followed your instructions … $1043 at office works! Nice one!

        • +1

Same here, thanks! also the shipping is only 29.95!

These GoodGuys model is also Dual SIM, picked one up from their store from previous ebay sale. Has DUOS labelled on the back of the box and has little 1 next to the signal whilst being Australian stock

    • I got mine for $1048
      Thanks!
I got black there is so little stock left and no blue
trying to get the Promotion for the headphones now
anyone know where the Proof of Purchase Number is?

Good deal and If you manage to sell those JBL Headphones for $200, would effectively cost less than 1k.

    • +2

Don't forget to sell the fornite skin as well

      • +1

I guess its too much of an effort to just get the skin…would it be worth it?

        1. Download Fortnite on your Galaxy Note9 or Tab S4 from the Samsung folder > Galaxy Apps and tap on the Fortnite Banner.
        2. Tap INSTALL AND OPEN in the Quick Installation Pop-up, then read through and accept the terms and conditions.
Note: This will install and open the Fortnite Installer and Fortnite on your Galaxy Note9 or Tab S4.
        3. Once logged in, play three matches of Fortnite on your Note9 or Tab S4 device.
        4. Tap the “Return to Lobby” button after being eliminated or winning a match for it to count toward the three matches you need to complete.
        5. After three matches are complete, allow 24-48 hours to receive a gift box in Fortnite with your Galaxy Skin. Tap the gift box to open and use your Galaxy Skin.

Actually it can be sold for 50-100 or even more if it's a rare skin.

          • +1

@hawkeye93: Sold mine on Gumtree for $50… Went fast too

            • @Fooah: That's great! Turns out to be even better deal then.

        • just sold the skin for $50! makes it only $1000 so far. still trying to get the headphones

      • Excuse the ignorant question, but I installed the game, got the skin, what now? How do I transfer it to someone?

        • Sorry but unless you sell the account you logged in with, it isn't transferable. The only way to do it is get someone to give you their account, login and play 3 games on THEIR account.

          • @Fooah: Ah OK thanks. I haven't played it since getting the skin and the account is one I made on the spot so I suppose it wouldn't be worth anything.

  • Jb hifi are offering an even better deal as long as you are willing to get a new number or port your number over from a different network provider. I bought mine today and brought my number across from Woolworths mobile (also telstra network) and get $500 outright off the rrp of the note 9. So I paid $999 for my note!
And the plan isn't bad either- $65/month for 80gb and unlimited calls and text…better than my previous plan.

The trouble I had with this was that, no matter which area code I entered, all stores I checked were showing no stock! On the other hand, on their main website the product was showing stock in the same stores! I fired off an ebay message at around lunchtime, but didn't hear back after a few hours (even now there is no reply).

I read here on OzBargain that Officeworks will even beat the price of grey/parallel imports (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/399699), particularly BecexTech but presumably Kogan and DSE are included…

Initially I phoned the store to check stock levels, and then proceeded to try to price match against BecexTech, but was denied; the person was adamant that I could not do this. Shortly after, I phoned the office (1300 OFFICE, option 2, 2, I believe). Discussed with the person and they placed the order under my account, for a 128GB black Note 9 for $1044, which is better than the 20% off TGG ($1199) and better than BecexTech ($1069 + insurance/shipping, which for me worked out to be $1123.95). I received an email confirmation of the order about 1 hour later, and also an email saying it was ready for collection. After collecting and returning home with my new Note 9, I registered for the free JBL headphones. I've not looked into the Fortnite skin.

The Officeworks price beat guarantee (https://www.officeworks.com.au/information/policies/price-be…) does not explicitly state that grey imports or such are excluded. Nevertheless it seems it is hit or miss as to whether you will be successful.
