I’m attached to us kindle for family sharing reasons. The link says “not available in my locale” so I click the AU link and it says not available either because I’m in the US market!

Worked for me on my US account. Thanks, OP!

This happened to me, but once I added a USA address (I used a Shipmate one) I was good to go.

      • Thank you. I thought to add us address but I didn’t know one. But great! I’ve never used my shipto account but I did receive an email with an address a couple months ago so it was perfect! I’ll remember that trick for future endeavours!

    • Maybe goto Amazon.com sign out. Then try again.

I often have probs because I'm signed into my AU account on a browser and visit Amazon US and all is good when I sign out and sign in again with my US account.

  • Thanks.

  • I'll wait till black Friday. Hopefully an Amazon $10 credit OR so with subscription

  • Anyone have a link to what titles are actually included? Cant find a title list on amazon without signing up to the trial

if you goto the Kindle store,
      - https://www.amazon.com.au/ebooks-kindle/b/ref=nav_shopall_bk…
      - then down the LHS tick the box for Kindle Unlimited Eligible

that lists the ebooks, which you can't explore via category.

but I can't see how you can search & filter. sorry

      • Ah thats fine, cheers!

  • I am confused: I thought you could read a ton of Amazon eBooks free if you're a Prime member? (Normally a bunch of self-pub stuff, where the authors get paid by page-reads from a pool)… is that something else, or is it different here than in the USA, or am I recollecting it entirely wrong?

    • +2

You can, there is a subset of Kindle Unlimited books that are included with Prime Reading. Kindle Unlimited is a bigger pool of books, I've found a fair bit that I'm interested in.

        Ah, thanks! Make sense :)

Can you keep the books after you've read them, if you cancel kindle unlimited?

    • +2

No, but it's not terribly difficult to download them and strip the DRM if you wish to do that. You can only have 10 checked out at a time anyways, returning one removes it from your devices. I think you could technically download your 10 to the device and never connect it to the internet again, but not sure if that currently works.

ah just paid thinking it would be any kindle book.

But it's basically books from unknown authors.

PRIME MEMBERSHIP not required in my case at least. Thx supabrudda

    • Yeah, I just noticed the MODs added that in there. I'll get them to remove it.

        My mistake.

According to the Terms and Conditions:

Offer exclusively available for Amazon Prime customers located in Australia, Christmas Island, Coco Islands, Heard Island and Mcdonald Islands, New Zealand, Niue, Norfolk Island or Tokelau.

Hence why I added Prime into the title. Just tested on a dummy account and it appears to be available for all users.

no stress, I saw that too after I signed up with a non-prime a/c. so I figured it was a copy & paste mistake. Sorry I should have mentioned that originally.
