Great price for a pre-order of the new edition. Older editions of this would go for about $50, so represents a great saving if you can wait 2 months.
Not quite sure what the big box means, but normally it indicates some expansions are included.

This is a two player only version so can't really compare to the full original game. It was released in 2012. Not sure why this is pitched as pre order?
I missed the big box part - that seems to be the pre order thing! Duh.
Also not sure why amazon (both here and in the US) is marking this as a pre-order when it's been out for a while. Ordered a copy a few months ago for my Dad.
Because it's the 'big box' of All Creatures Big and Small, which includes the previous expansions as well as the base game in one box. Previously you had to buy them all separately.

I have had more Amazon deliveries than from Price jack eBay.
Not a lover of Amazon, but for the last 12 months or so, eBay has lost a lot of business from me, mainly due to old mate jack and the quality of service I get from Amazon through Prime.

Wow - thought I got a good deal for this from Gamerholic ($56 delivered). The big box edition came out earlier this year but was published by Lookout Games.
The Amazon listing says Fantasy Flight Games/Asmodee,so I'm guessing this will be an American reprint, which might be possibly lower in quality too given the cheap pricing (perhaps this will ship with lower quality tokens etc).
Edit: it appears Lookout Games was acquired by Asmodee earlier this year. Perhaps all of the above is just moot.. maybe a pricing error after all?
Good easy to learn 2 player game. I have the original so can't justify the big box, but that's a great deal.

Weird, I was the OP and yet have had mine cancelled..
When I chatted to them after the delay they told me that they had 80 in stock at the time but couldn't fulfill the other 200+ orders they got on time. Chances are you may get yours since you would have been one of the first orders. On the other had they also said they would have more stock by the 20th of January but just cancelled my order so who knows how accurate those figure are…

I just did a quick chat with Amazon about this situation, asked them whether instead of a straight cancellation they could discount a different board game by a similar amount. Told them that by waiting for this pre-order I missed all the boxing day sales, etc…
They asked which game, I picked Settlers of Catan. Got some extra credit added to my account and got Settlers at less than half price. Not quite as good a discount as this would have been, but still very happy with the outcome.
Your mileage may vary. If you chat with them make sure you have a link ready for a game you want discounted and that is sold by Amazon themselves (not just fulfilled by Amazon).
I did this and got $15 off the expansion for Catan and also got to keep the $5 gift card. So $20 discount in total.

I did this too but seems like you got the best outcome! They refused to give me extra credit + discount on a board game. I got $15 off 7 Wonders Duel but kept my $5 credit.
The scumbags at gameology can get (profanity) for wasting our time. I could have bought this during the boxing day sales at another store. I certainly wont be giving them a cent in future.
To be fair. I think we were buying direct from Amazon AU.
What frustrates me is that the whole board game catalogue of Amazon USA is not available here (esp with the deals that they offer for the same product). Hence can't use my Australian prime to make use of it.
But frustrating is that Gameology currently sells this same product for 18 dollar cheaper on their storefront.
I got the same emails as everyone else with the exception that I chatted to them after the first email saying it was delayed. They assured me they would be getting more stock on the 20th of January and said they had upgraded my delivery speed so I would get it on the 23rd of January. They also gave me a $10 credit for the delay. Will chat to them later today and confirm whether this promise of additional stock was just incorrect or if there is still a chance because I would still rather get the game for $18.88…
Just chatted to them - 363 orders were placed.. only 80 will get fulfilled. Sounds like having Prime will make you jump to the top of the queue because of the expedited delivery, so I'm missing out as I don't have Prime :/

So to update, they assured me that they would give it to me at the $18.88 price once it is back in stock "Just for you as one time exception". I have doubts that it will ever come back in stock given the answer to whether they planned to get it back in stock was "Most probably yes :)" but I will give them a month or two and see what happens. Said to contact them again if it doesn't come back in stock to work out a different solution.
Got $10 voucher added to my account in the mean time and I am in no rush so fingers crossed.
Pretty much the same happened to me - I went round in circles with them about why they couldn't just keep my preorder open and they said it wasn't possible. However, they did insist more stock was coming, but just couldn't say when. I asked if they could notify me when it did - no dice. So instead, I've just set a super high price on camelcamelcamel so in theory it should trigger when any stock comes in.
Didn't get the $10 voucher though - maybe I should go back and ask for that…

I should say the $10 was only forthcoming when I mentioned the week long delay of a different order that I ordered last week. They weren't offering anything before I mentioned that.
EDIT: Also have you noticed that the link in the OP is no longer the Big Box according to the title (though the picture ad description still is). We will see what actually comes back in stock (if anything).
@EBC: Yeah I have been having issues as well. I actually had a tracking number but my game never arrived. Got the cancellation email which is annoying.
