  • From time to time, I don't receive Cashrewards records, even shop after closing all browser tabs and start from cashreward site.

Do you know if CR will pay out after using the code AMD?

      • +1

Good point. Not sure about that.

        • How can we find out?

          • +3

            @Lunawuna: I messaged TA…will report back.

            • @videlity: Thanks videlity :)

            • @videlity: Thanks! So tempted to throw 32 gigs of ram on the thing and get it for about $980

@videlity: Hi videlity, and thanks for the PM. Just received confirmation from Lenovo that they will pay Cashback on this coupon. Please note it expires tonight. Here's the link.

              • @tightarse: thanks TA, pulled the trigger.

              • @tightarse: Can I confirm for Lenovo E585 with coupon AMD, also eligible for 12%?

              • @tightarse: just went through and pulled the trigger on this, how long does it take for purchases to show up in Cashrewards site as registered? thanks mate - great deal!

@Christoshizz: I ordered last night and got a 'sale tracked' email in 15 mins.
CR has been great if you you follow the rules and method properly. I've had a few sales not tracked but was quickly resolved by the CS team!

                  • @alterego13: yeah thanks - same case on my end, got the notification about a $90 ish credit about 15-20 mins after ordering.

i wonder how long delivery on these laptops will take!?

                    • @Christoshizz: That's great!
Says shipping in 6-9 days. So another 6-7 days depending on how it's sent.
                      I'd say about a month!
PS : Just had a chat with CS, machines are shipped from china via DHL.

        CashRewards states -

"Purchases made with coupon codes not advertised on Cashrewards may result in cashback not being paid."

Seems it could go either way as to whether you get the cashback. However, for items that are just on discount e.g. the X1E has a 15% discount with no coupon at the moment, then I believe the Cashrewards should apply.

  • Does anyone have the Thinkpad E485 personally and can comment on the battery life on the go? Looking at this laptop for uni however been seeing some not so great recounts of ~4 hours of battery life.

    • +2

I only just received mine from the previous deal and have not been on the go with it, but the provided estimations on battery life is around 4-5hrs on low brightness and have a couple of powerpoint slides/pdfs/word documents open.

It does run a bit hot though, and although the fan isnt loud, its not quiet either.

      • can you comment on the screen? is it half decent?

        • +1

I think it's "decent", no major complaints from me. The screen works, no dead pixels, I'm colourblind so I can't comment on the colour, though the screen could be a bit brighter. I've noticed some backlight bleed but nothing major.

Honestly, I can't really comment on the screen much as I've only been using it for studying for my exams so far, and will continue to do so for a few days more until my exams are done.

Also, I figured out it was the windows 10 downloading/updating that made it run hot and loud (according to core temp, my cpu was around 60-70c during the updates; currently at 46-55c with a few tabs and documents open. Fan is pretty quiet now).

          Hope this helps.

  • One thing I didn't realise is the cashback is on the sale value less GST i.e. if the item cost $2200 inc GST, then cashback is 12% of $2000 ($2200 less 10% GST). I have never noticed this in past, but it clearly written on their website FAQ's.

    • Never noticed but makes total sense as it's not like the government gives CashRewards a finder fee for the GST component.

  • How do they do this?
    Does the shop offer more?
Is that what cashrewards marks and just doing it at a lost leader?

      How can she slap?

  • Be careful, I haven’t received any cent back from Cashreward yet after spending 3k for Lenovo. That is my personal experience only.

    • Look, you would either get or you won’t. If you won’t, they will give you a reason. There’s no mystery around it.

  • Does cashback work on Lenovo Education store?
