CeBIT Australia Exhibition - Free Registration Save $90 (SYD)

This is great for collecting free pens and other giveaways. Otherwise browse the stalls for something interesting relating to the computing world. More suited to business and commercial interests, however there are a few stalls offering specials to retail customers.

    Please put Sydney in title…

Better use a disposable email address for registration because you will be spammed by vendors until eternity.

      Privacy section clearly offers:

Do not send me details about other CeBIT events
Do not send me details about CeBIT partner events
Do not pass my personal details to CeBIT Partners with promotional offers.
Do not sign me up for CeBIT Australia's Business Matching System

      Good enough for me.

I don't remember if they had these opt-outs a previous year, but I am still getting business spam from that registration, including lots of firms that never exhibited at CeBIT Australia, based in the US. Expect your details to be shared with all CeBIT "partners", here or overseas. Still, it's your mailbox.

I should also mention that I got mobile spam too, but since they are paying over the odds to call me on my mobile, I was happy to keep them talking while doing other work.

  • Will there be booth babes?

  • Hi
    Thanks Dude

  • You need a bussiness name and job title.

    • Make up something, nobody checks those. E.g. software tester, shaun1.com.au

Can anyone summarise the eHealth option please?

    • It's a conference held during CeBIT. If you're not interested in eHealth, I wouldn't recommend choosing that option.

  • BTW, don't fret if you miss out on this (don't know if the early bird runs out). You will not lack for invitations from vendors and extra tickets from colleagues, etc.

    • flick through computer magazines. they'll usually have a few free entry codes printed.
CeBit's getting more and more boring every year. Even the amount of SWAG you can scab has been pretty dud.

  • why do they always have cebit on weekdays. that just means i cant go. :(

    • +4

Because it's a trade show, and trade shows are on weekdays so that people working in the industry can actually treat it like a day off. They're "working" at CeBIT, "representing" their company.

Then there's the uni students (especially UTS, just up the road) who appear hoping to network but really just for another year's supply of lanyards, pens, notepads, highlighters, and stickers.

Sometimes if you're lucky they'll have a 256MB flash drive.

  • Thanks, never been to this before.

Did they just dream up with a number and say this year it would cost $90? This is the kind of trade show they beg people to go and should always be free, the exhibitors are paying for the floor spaces.

    • Yeah, I don't know anybody who has actually paid for entry. You can always get a free ticket from somewhere.

  • Do they check for ID for age?

  • they send me notice to register for free every year…. usually will drop by if free to collect some freebies, and I dont really get spam unless I drop my business cards.

  • who ever planned this sign up form is genius
