      They're both very different animals:

The UE Megaboom 3 is 22cm long and weighs less than 1kg.

This sony speaker is 52cm long and weighs 7kg. Enough to power a party.

The Heineken deal is pretty good though.

Definitely try this product at JB hi-fi or somewhere before buying. I purchased this model recently, but returned it a week later. The sound quality is very poor (it constantly sounds muffled), and for the size, it really doesn't get very loud. Also it's not weather proof, so taking outside is dangerous. I have the smaller Sony bluetooth speaker which is far far better.

I was very disappointed. I'd wait for a newer model which irons out these issues.

  • i remember i got it a while back for $122 with $9 shipping from sony australia. few people ordered at that price before they maybe realised it was a price mistake and updated the price.

    • I got one for $122 and my family love it.

      • yeah kids in my house love the lighting effect and am it sounds good if not great. the bass is punchy. it doesnt get too loud considering its size, however for a large room or a small party in the backyard it serves its purpose.

i think there are other models that have inbuilt battery so you can actually carry it and have a blast by the beach.

        • Its way better than UE Megaboom, not the same level

  • I personally wouldn't buy a speaker that doesn't mention specs, eg frequency response and RMS.

  • I have one and I really like the Extra Bass.

  • What's the biggest/loudest bluetooth speaker out there? Decent quality too, Cheers.
