Sad that I missed out on the $39.10 Deal, which will never happen again.

    • Me too :(

I've missed out on previous deals too and this was the best thing since they've got stock again.

    • Guess I won't be buyng a ludicrpus torch then. :|

  • +2

Great torch, ours is called 'Possum Killer'

    • So it could be used as a way to scare away an annoying and dangerous wild cat that keeps coming to our house?

      • It would certainly blind it…

        • Oh no…don't want that…maybe…

      • smack smack smack smack

    • I will call it: Portable HID high beam Double Strength.

    • My kids call it the "flesh burner". I just call it the best 50 bucks I've ever spent in my life! (got it on some Amazon deal a while back)

  • Oh how I wish I could justify this right now.

      Early xmas present for yourself.

    • +1

      I can't either, but placed my order…

      • Yeah I jumped on the bandwagon. Now I gotta drop ~$40 on some high drain nipple tops. Oh, the silly decisions I make…

  • Is this thing IPX rated at all? I'd be using this for a bit of water activity but if it's not rated at all I won't bother.

    • +1

      Second last picture shows IPX8

      • Thanks for that.

One guy wrote this on Amazon: The build quality of the Q8 is very impressive, having dropped this torch into water accidentally multiple times, the torch is still working perfectly fine.

      • Glad to hear. I'll be swimming with this through canals and such so I need at least 1m and this apparently does 2m :D

        • Be aware it is quite weighty and will sink like a rock if dropped underwater. No hole for a lanyard either.
A BLF 6, single cell unit might be better for what you're doing?

          • @aargee: That's okay. Too late now ahaha. I'm a decent swimmer and shouldn't have problems holding it. Plus the water is almost never 2M deep.

          • +1

@aargee: You can screw a lanyard holder in the tripod mount on the body of the torch.

        • A bit off topic but wouldn't a water proof headlamp be easier for your activity?

The Black Diamond Storm comes to mind.

          • @eDust: I mean, if I want some piddly little beam that doesn't touch the bottom due to all the sediment :P

Now I can just burn that sediment away with the Q8 ahahaha.

Can't buy… Since flat top battery is banned…

    • The third picture indicated that a button top battery will work

    • Since when? Do you have a link?

    • Regardless of your claim.
"The light is intended to be used with button top 18650 batteries. We highly recommend the use of protected cells."

Banned…? What the hell do you mean banned?

    • I'm using mine with flat top 18650s. No issues.

      • +2

Button tops way better, flat tops work but can be inconsistent in their connection when the light is screwed together, thus making some batteries work hard and some not work at all.

  • Thanks OP, bought two.

    Not sure why I need multiple C8's, S70S and now 2 Q8's.

They'll come in handy one day I suppose.

  • Can anyone comment about max size of batteries?

  • Shopback also still have 8% cashback at Amazon AU, as well as Cashrewards.

    • Mhmm. I claimed the $5 cashback on it.

  • More like a volcano than a lightsaber :)

  • Don't forget the brass screw upgrade.. Mentioned on the BLF forum iirc..

Did it to mine, didn't notice much difference although i have only used it indoors, lol..

  • Purchased thanks op! Did it though cashrewards (first time) anyone know how long it takes to appear? also there seems to be a minimum $10 withdraw? do you guys that use it just let it accumulate and transfer into your paypal?

I did mine about 2pm yesterday and just got the confirmation email 5 minutes ago. $5 back aint bad.

      • Nice one, thanks for that. Does the $5 go straight into your account?

        • Yep. Confirmation period is expected to be 75 days they say.

  • I'm getting the code is not valid, anyone else seeing this?

    • Looks like the promo sale is over :( Sorry

      • Damn, too slow :(

  • ANyone just buys some batteries + charger with a link they could share?

  • For those who missed out it's available here for $52.99 delivered if you don't mind buying from Hong Kong.

I'm tempted but I may pass because I prefer torches that can charge it's own batteries while installed. Still very happy with my Klarus XT11GT 2000
