Samsung Galaxy Note 9 6GB/128GB Black $1014.60 Delivered (Grey Import) @ TobyDeals (Price Beat with Officeworks @ $963.87)

640

All mobiles are on sale at tobydealsau.com.

I know that almost all stores are out of stock for note 9. Fortunately, I got one and price matched for $963.87 (after TRS, it will be $876.25..very good price for local stock.

It's just depends on luck. I can see one in officeworks @Waurnponds.

OW receipt: https://deakin365-my.sharepoint.com/:i:/g/personal/pparesi_d…

Thanks

Doesn't beat the grey market import I got for $830 using ebay discounts… didnt have to pay GST either.. came with a free case as well. Shoulda bought 10 and flogged them on gumtree haha

    • Truly living up to your name ;)

    • +2

I agree :-). But grey imports doesn't come with Australian warranty. It was one of my main concern as I had very bad experience with Kogan for my S7 edge.

      • +2

Also cant use Samsung pay without rooting it

        • Any knowledge on the rooting / ROM support for the Note 9's? I've rooted all my past Samsungs except my current LG V20 (too hard). I'm looking at getting a Note 9 but I've never liked all the Samsung bloat preinstalled so I'd be looking to flash with a cleaner ROM.

I'd prefer a grey import, discounted and I'm breaking warranty the second I trigger knox anyway.

          • @Click_It: Does this not still void the warranty?

            • @Warehouse: Yep once Knox is triggered warranty is voided so there's no point in me buying local stock.

        • +3

This is not actually correct - you can flash an Australian Samsung rom to change the region to allow Samsung pay without rooting it

          Does not break knox

I've written a guide here on ozb

Waiting for your bargain deal to be posted

    • Gotta post on this soon to be legendary thread

    • +2

How much have you been making broden? long time no see

    • Got it for 963.87 today from ow price match, will claim gst next month in my trip, and then i claimed the headphones and will get them soon, and finally peace of mind for 2 years instead of 1 grey import warranty. I'm sure i beat you deal 😛

      • I didn't pay GST either. Everyones getting those headphones and flogging them so the market price of them is under 100 bucks. And warranty is kinda a moot point on a high end phone like this. If it lasts for 1 year then it'll do 5. I'm sure you'll get a better deal tho you are travelling so you have the expendable income to not even worry about a hundred bucks or so. Lucky you.

      • Sell your fortnite skin too for $50-100.

      • are you able to post your receipt? Im having trouble getting OW to price match i keep getting quoted the Australian warranty thing as a cop out.

    • y no share the deal here?

    • You forgot the bit where you bought 10 and made $100 per unit flogging them on Gumtree

Anyone with luck able to purchase @ OW in WA?

    • Since when do OW price match overseas stock? No tax and exchange rate differences would leave them shafted big time.

      • -1

        They don't.
This post is false advertising and needs to be amended to just have to original sellers price.

    • Not at this price.

Managed in Midland matched to catch.com.au for $1060

  • I've looked up tobydeals rep online and it doesn't look good. Any experience with them before?

Called 10+ OWs in Melb, all out of stock! :(

    • +1

I instead called head office and they located the stock for me.

      • This guy bargains

  • When will OW restock?

  • -1

apparently Binglee still have stock available, can we price match with Bing Lee?

  • +1

Got the last one price matched with ow Carolinesprings for $963.87.
Think last one in melb. Wanted blue but got black 😔

  • Is there any way to use Afterpay instore at Officeworks? I think the price beat guarantee can't be used online.

    • I don't think you can

    • Afterpay can only be done online through a click and collect, which you're correct that price beat guarantee can't be used online.

We can now process zip pay in store, but it seems like not quite as good a system as afterpay from my brief looking into it.

  • For those of you considering, I don’t know if its worth waiting for this or not but this article (https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2018/11/14/black-fr…) suggests Samsung is discountig the note 9 for black friday in the US, so could be they’ll do the same here or grey imports get even cheaper.

  • I have tried this deal at my local stores in WA Subiaco and Fremantle and was refused right away. Some people get lucky to get it price matched they said there model is N960FD and officeworks Model No. is N960FZ

    • Officeworks model is N960F/DS…

      • Part Number
SM-N960FZNDXSA this is there model no.

        • Mine is N960F/DS… I checked once again

    • im the same north of the river, they quote the Australian warranty as the reason not to. i tried to price match the S9 for 899 on Kogan.

Tried Chatswood NSW. No store stock but told could get it in a few days. Went to process order and was told there is no stock at all at Officeworks. Cannot process it. Oh well.

Isn’t it a good idea to wait for a 5G phone rather than upgrading to “powerful CPU, more RAM, better camera” phones ?

    • yes, if u wait for atleast 2 years for a proper 5g flagship phone

  • Which one do you guys prefer? Pixel 2xl or note 9? Main reasons you like your pick?

    • +1

Note 9 for superior Samsung Pay and ecosystem (Samsung TV and watch), plus the pen is pretty handy. Then again, that suits MY needs perfectly.

Specs on flagships are all about the same these days, it's now about the little things that'll pull it over the line for you.

Sure pixel is the "cleanest" android but chuck on a new launcher and you're good to go, too bland in my opinion…

    • +2

Call me bias but I can't live without the headphone jack. Stock Android is boringville for me, used a Sony XA phone and I found it lacking so much little feature in the OS that I like on Samsung Experience 9.5

You can run Linux when docked to a TV or monitor, something Pixel 2 XL lacks. So the Note 9 wins for me.

    • Note 9 because 70.% of my gadgets belongs to Samsung and 95 of them are smart.

    • -1

Stock is shipped from overseas. Not the same model. Does not fall within Officeworks price matching policy.

      • still worth a try i say, u never know when luck favours u :)

        • i tried it but failed so far, they continually quote the warranty thing even after i point out its not in their terms. 2 stores just directed me to head office.

  • +1

Prudvi, the receipt link does not work. Can you upload it again?

  • I previously got knocked back. Different model number + not an Australian website.

  • Is this deal is same as this ?

    https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/samnote9dual128gbblk-in…

    its on sale

  • Any other stores with a similar policy to match these prices on grey imports?

OW is "out of stock" for note9s for weeks now…

    Thanks

  • Toby Deals have dropped their price further
