    Want the bogof

    • BOGO 50% Off on Pixel 3*

But yeah that would be great.

  • +1

I mistook this for the Google Play store.

  • +9

Can someone explain to me why you would get the pixel 2 xl, when you can get the 3 for $1350 with push10 here: Ebay Link

Does google really hate us auzzies to give us a discount on their older generation phone.

    • Some people may prefer a bigger screen while paying ~$250 less?

      • So wait a bit, to get the extra money instead of buying an older generation phone for $250 less.

        • I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say.

  • +25

Save $100 on the Pixel 2XL? That is pathetic….

This is that the US Google Store is running:

    • Buy one Pixel 3 or 3 XL and get the second phone for up to 50 percent off (November 16th to 21st).
    • $150 discount on the Pixel 3, $200 discount on the Pixel 3 XL (November 22nd to 25th).
    • is it possible to boycott Google???

      • +5

Yes but the inconvenience it would cause to you would be far greater than the damage caused to them

      • +1

        Bing

        • Don't forget Yahoo!

Australian's screwed again, if our government isn't doing it we get it from the retailers and if not the retailers it's the likes of Google.

      • +3

Instead of boycotting, voice ur concern on their AU Facebook and Twitter account. Might have better impact.

    • Google discounts are pathetic in Australia. So bad that I wouldn't call this a deal

  • +21

$20 off the Home Hub? Move on, people. Nothing to see here.

  • I received the Google Home Mini a few weeks ago from an Ebay Plus deal. I set it up, loaded the app, and it seems to work fine. But the thing occasionally beeps at me for no reason as if I have said "Hey Google". It's like it is listening anyway?

    Now I am paranoid…

    Anyone else have this?

    • Have you visited any websites recently that you would rather not tell us about?

      • Not that I can recall :/ lol

        • It listens for certain words, say the words and it triggers and sends the next words back to server.

So yes listens, but does not send back.

          • @Other: My missus is super paranoid now. She thinks 'big brother' is listening in on our conversations and whatever else might be going on in the loungeroom :/ lol

I told her that the 'authorities' now have the power to listen in anytime they want….hahahahahaha (they probably do….hmmmm)

            • @pookie: Of course, the microphones in your various connected & always-on phones already gave them that capability. And your phones contain a lot of "trusted" low-level code that could enable it, from the phone maker, the SoC manufacturer's drivers, the baseband radio vendor's firmware, the telco you bought it from, possible third-party telemetry providers like CarrierIQ - and that's without getting into state-sponsored spying or ordinary malware.

Devices like Echo & Home have better microphones, but seem a lot less insecure to me, sadly :-/ They make their listening more obvious (with beeps) but of course real spying wouldn't alert you like that.

I have one set up in my living room, and one in my bedroom; I've never had this issue.

      • That's interesting. I know that we don't accidently say "hey google" to activate it…so maybe we are being spied on. Now I am worried about our home surveillance system too :/

    • +4

      Skynet appreciates your contribution.

    • Sometimes it helps if you have an outstanding reminder? Usually there's one led on too.

    • I get pretty much the same on my phone, it occasionally seems to think I've spoken the trigger words.

And yes, it is listening anyway. It has too be listening always to know when you speak the trigger words.

    • A Google Home on the bar, 3 minis scattered around bedrooms.

      Never had this issue myself.

That's a shame, they should give us sale on the Pixel Buds particularly the USB-C One. I bought one a couple weeks ago and at $45 it's surprisingly good AND have Google Assistant built-in, which none of cheapo China earphone has.

    • Where did you get them for $45???

    • If I long press the middle button on my xiaomi earphones it activates the Google Assistant. You just have to configure it in the Google Assistant settings.

      • Yes, it can activate Google Assistant and that's it. It can't use Google Assistant real time translation i.e it can translate but rather than from earphone microphone to phone speaker and vice versa, it's from earphone mic to earphone only. It can't read notification and do other things that headphones with Google Assistant built in do. I actually just tested it right now, the Xiaomi earphones do not have Google Assistant baked in like more expensive headphones.

The Google USB-C ear buds do all these at this price point which is rare.

  • nah, I just won an auction this week for a Pixel 2 with home mini and earbuds for $726 new. I'm not going to pay a $1000 for a phone anymore.

    • +1

Implying that you used to pay $1000… Sheesh.

      • Now that you said it… I have never paid more than $765 for a phone. Last December I won another Pixel 2 in auction for that price in a bundle too. I had the Nexus 6P before and I paid about $500 to Kogan if I'm not mistaken.

        • +3

You didn't win a phone lol. You paid lots of money for it. It's over a year old too. Considering most got it for "free" on Telstra plan with Google home mini.

          • @onlinepred: Lol where I said I win a phone? I did say I won a phone in an auction. Trying to be funny, play with words or checking who has better English?

            • @Colombian: You won an auction, not a phone. I was only attracted by your arrogance, then noticed the funny mistake.

          • +1

@onlinepred: "Won an auction" sounds so much better than "paid the most for this thing."

  • +6

    Why have people upvoted this?

    • My thoughts exactly…

  • +2

I'm not seeing a deal here..

  • -8

Google Home mini for $49? Whats the deal here? It's always on promo 49, sometime even as freebie.

    • +8

It’s better than anything you’ve ever posted.

    • +2

What about all the other deals in this post? Your negative vote is unwarranted.

Try posting some deals yourself sometime as well.

      • -1

        I most definitely will :D

    • Where can you apply the code promo 49?

      • It's not q promo code. I got one for $49 when Mini was launched.
        I wouldn't consider this as a must-have after 12 months of usage, a nice-to-have at the best.
Certainly wouldn't get a second one for the same price, it's been 12 months old.

  • -8

This is a pretty disappointing deal.

    • Your negative vote is disappointing and unwarranted. Look at the rules for negative voting.

      • It's a wonder members post any deals when you can get away with neg voting by basically saying the same thing as "Not a Bargain" or one of the other phrases that are invalid.

The neg voting guidelines need a serious overhaul.

        • I agree, there should be bans from negative voting for people unable to follow the rules.

      • But he's disappointed!

        • -2

Snowflakes need to get used to getting disappointed.

  • does the US pixel 3 work here in OZ?

there's an unlocked version and project fi version?

    which one to buy?

  • Damn no deal for the Google Wifi. Looks good though.

    • The 3 pack was advertised on Google Shopping for $199 from the Google Store, but when following the link it came up as $419. I contacted the Google Store and they tried to blame "third parties". I asked which third parties, since I was searching for a Google product on Google and it directed me to Google Shopping which had a listing for the Google Store, and I was even using Google Chrome. You literally couldn't have less involvement from third parties. Third parties were also listed on Google Shopping, but at ~$398.

  • +3

Pixel 2 XL is already $1099 on the Google store but why buy from there when it's $999 at JB Hi-Fi, less if you get discounted gift cards?

    • -2

Because of the Google advance replacement warranty.

  • Thats like normal price?
    nothing isnt something

  • $1099 for last gen flagship. You got to be kidding me.

    • Let me guess, Xiaomi fanboy?

      • Nah. Using an ASUS these days.

  • This is straight up trolling. Google has no care for Australia.
