Miele Compact C2 Hardfloor Obsidian Black - $249 (Was $479) + 4 Free Dustbags and Filters (Valued at $28.90) @ Miele

870

Cheapest I've seen a C2 for in a while. These Miele vaccuum cleaners are built to last. I recieved free delivery with mine, however that may not be the case for everyone. Great if you have a lot of hard flooring.

  • Good for tiles?

    • +3

I'm no vaccuum cleaner expert but since Miele vaccuums tend to be very powerful and this one is made for hard flooring it should be good for tiles as well.

  • Would this still be good for carpets though?
Are dustbag vacuums as good as bagless?

    • +4

If it has adjustable suction it should be fine. I know the C3 does, not sure about the C2. Problem is, if it’s run on the max power, it can pull the carpet up and separate joins (if you have joins in your carpet). Generally though, I imagine it says it’s for hard floors because the head has a brush section on it – this brush is really grippy on carpet and makes it very difficult to push but it acts as a sweeper on hard floors.

    • +4

It's made for hard floors but works well on carpet too. It still has a carpet mode on the head. Dustbag vaccuums tend to be more powerful and maintain its suction for longer. Especially the Miele ones are a lot more hygenic since Miele has the best filtration. Or at least that's what I've read from vaccuum experts. But it's a well known thing that Miele is seen as the leader in Vaccuum reliability and filtration.

      • since Miele has the best filtration

Only if you use original Miele bags

    • Bagged vacuums provide better suction than bagless

    • my Meile bagged is definitely better than a number bagless i had been buying for years
I am starting to think the bagless thing is just marketing BS

That said my wife broke my $400 meile because she operated it without any bag filling the engine with dirt and catching fire

Just adding, there are a few vacuums on clearance/run out at the Miele shop online
    https://shop.miele.com.au/en/vacuum-cleaners/clearance-vacuu…

  • Comes with a free box of bags! And free delivery

  • Bought one thanks! been waiting for a deal like this since I missed out on the C3 some months ago.

  • Thanks OP - Ordered one - I have always found Miele to be the best allround vacuum and when they're on sale, they're a steal!

  • -5

No thanks. More tiring than using the cordless Dyson.

    • +2

Really I find dysons more tiring if not using just for one room.

      1. have to hold button down all the time
      2. weight is all in the hand/wrist compare it with a miele and all you are holding is the hose
      • Try a 300mm2 house dragging that miele around and moving funriture at the same time. Unplugging and replugging bending up and down. The trigger pushing provide no discomfort for me and weight is something you get used to if you use it at least bi-daily.

My household has a miele and a big ball Dyson. Both are cumbersome to use after using the cordless Dyson. I think a robot vac and cordless Dyson will make your life easier.

        • +4

300mm? Is it a house made for ants?

          • @John Kimble: I got the metric wrong but it meant to be in square meter as in m2. Too late to edit my error.

    • +5

Charging the Dyson every 5 minutes is pretty tiring.

      • I don't use Max power all the time unless you really need it like a dirty carpet or an dirty spot of the house, mostly tiles here and low power on the v8 can pick up most dirt off the floor with at least 40 minutes of battery life.

        • Must be a fairly new unit, don't get too used to that sort of run time.

          • @brendanm: More than a year old for my dyson v8.

            • +2

@ChickenAdobo: Not bad. My old thing lasts about 5 seconds nowadays, pulling it apart and balance charging it is on the to do list. I just hate Dyson and their hatred toward Australia, giving us 2 years warranty when everyone else gets 5, and charging us more for the privilege of owning their average at best vacuums. /Rant

        • Are you sure your carpets are getting cleaned? If a Miele salesman came in and vacuumed a patch of carpet in your home using a new bag, would you be surprised how much dirt and dust it picked up?

          • @AustriaBargain: I don't have a carpet in all of the house but the theater room. Normally I use the miele to do the carpet job. For everyday cleaning the cordless Dyson is a much better vacuum.

Most of the house has tiles which the cordless Dyson can do easily than this vacuum

            • @ChickenAdobo: Yeah tiles should be fine with the Dyson, don’t need that much power for hard floor.

  • +2

I bought this when it was $309 about six weeks ago and it’s an amazing vacuum. I primarily use it on wood floors, but also on tiles in my bathroom and carpet in the bedroom and it’s fine.

Comes with the standard Miele head which can be used on carpets & the hardfloor head which is really good for well hard floors. Has adjustable suction to adjust to your needs.

Great price with free delivery and bags.

  • +1

thanks! just impulse bought a vacuum cleaner lol ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Ahh well, I've impulse bought worse things! (and my current one is a Dyson cordless and the battery lasts about 30s so an upgrade to a real vacuum seems worthwhile.)

    • +3

What on earth happened to your arm??

      • +3

Sold it to finance the Dyson probably

Is this the same model as Harvey Norman's special "Miele Compact C2 Powerline Vacuum $197 (RRP $335) + Bonus 2 Years Supply of Dustbags (Valued at $57.80)" 5 months ago?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382538

  • Is it good for carpet?

    • Yes very good for carpet.

      • Thanks.

  • C2 vs C3?

    • Slightly more fancy handle air control and better hepa filters, but $450 more and also with bonus filters and free delivery.

      https://shop.miele.com.au/en/vacuum-cleaners/bagged-cylinder…

      • Isnt that overpriced? C3s are usually around the 350$ mark

        • Not overpriced as it's reduced compared to higher prices, but for us OzBargainers it's not as low as it has/could go/been.

      • +1

I paid $330 for my c3 cat and dog 6 months ago

        • where for $330 for c3?

          • @4rcane: Maybe not now but if you wait, somewhere will have close to this price.

          • @4rcane: Bing Lee ebay, was on sale plus an ebay 20% off sale. But as mentioned, 6 months ago. I kept an eye out for a couple of months before jumping on it.

If you need one right now, $250 is still awesome for the C2.

  • +5

I’m waiting for the C3 Cat and Dog to go on a good sale! Hopefully pre-Christmas

    • Same! Have a Birman cat so plenty of fur around.

  • Just get a Pacvac super pro and be done with it

  • +1

    had no choice! ordered C2.

  • +4

    Thanks OP!

I was about to pick up and C2 but ended up purchasing the Miele Swing H1 Cat and Dog which is currently on clearance for $159 + complimentary dust bag.

    https://shop.miele.com.au/en/vacuum-cleaners/upright-vacuum-…

For anyone interested, I read a number of reviews and it seems like the main issue is weight (4.5kg) and maneuverability as it does not have bidirectional wheels. Suction power appears to be quite good and as long as you have appropriate heads, it should be OK on most surfaces.

    • Didn't see that one on clearance before. Great deal!

    • I've heard Miele upright vacuums are much more fragile. Anyone confirm this thinking?

    • I bought couple too great xmas present :)

    • I saw that and I bought one because it's cheaper than buying the turbo head itself:

  • Myer refused to price match :(

    • +1

That clearly goes against their own policy. I would try another store or contact Myers directly.

      • +1

the guy at myers (melbourne cbd) refused saying its "below cost". the other myer stores which have this are pretty far

        • the guy at myers (melbourne cbd) refused saying its "below cost"

          From their price match policy:
Myer will not match the competitor's price if: It is below our cost price
I think this must be their #1 cop-out excuse for not price-matching, because I don't know how could a buyer prove it's above or below their cost price. When they don't want to match, they could just tell people off by saying it's below their cost price. Hmm.

          • @aussieolfaction: this and "no clearance price match"

got told the same for Dishonored 2 price match attempt at JB Hifi

  • hmmm i placed an order and it has been processed.
a week has passed no news about the delivery.
    why they are so quiet?

    • "Thank you for your order. Please allow 5-7 working days for delivery of all floorcare, benchtop appliances, accessories and care products"
I wouldn't worry too much. They might not be used to the kind of traffic that Ozbargain might have generated.

    • Also seems like they don't update you on the order for some reason. Mine has been sent and I didn't receive an update either. If you're worried I'd give them a call.

    • Hmmm I finally received a package from Miele yesterday but it was just the free vacuum bags! No news on the actual machine at all

  • Still haven't received an update from them, even though I ordered on the 17/11. Read up some reviews of their online store and a lot of complaints of delayed orders =/

    • I just looked that up too and it had me worried. Gave them a call and they said that australia post has it and provided me with a tracking number. So it seems they just don't let you know when it's been sent for some reason.

    • Same as myself. I wrote to them two days ago and waiting for a reply still.

      • Just got a reply. They're relocating warehouse and have had unforeseen delays because of it. They said it will be sent out by the end of the week.

        • I got told the same information last friday :|
          still no vacuum

          • @Blahness: I got mine yesterday, but just like potatodream said, they don't send any tracking notification. And worse, when I called them the day before, they couldn't give me any tracking number even though it was already dispatched..

          • @Blahness: I received mine a week ago now. So hopefully wont be long for everyone else.

            • @potatodream: Mine announced to arrive today

far cry from the quote 5-7 days

  • Available in their store in Adelaide?

    • +1

You'll probably have to call and ask them.

  • +1

Thank you, the product arrived today.

  • Just ordered this today for the same price,

The 4 Free Dustbags and Filters were also included so bonus there.

    • the description did not say the bonuses are included?

      • They appeared in cart automatically for me, didn't have to add them or anything.

It must have changed since the comment was added

        • Just ordered and came up in cart for me too.

        • Shipped within 24 hrs for me. Provided tracking number earlier today.
