      Miele Vacuum's really suck

      So does Gerry.

      *Vacuums.

      's is possessive.

Saw you trying to be a grammar Nazi in another thread… Then your most recent comment has this grave error. Embarrassing!

Thanks, I'm not embarrassed. I appreciate being corrected if I'm doing something wrong.

  • Thanks !

    Bought one

  • Miele is too powerful. I bought my mum one of their bigger model for her hard floor. I struggle to push the vacuum at 60% power. I'd imagine it's strong enough to lift old carpet at 100%.

    • vinyl flooring is all bubbles

    • +1

Are you insane? There is a power dial on the front of all them

  • What's a powerline vacuum? I see no mention of this feature on HN's web page. Does it simply mean this is a corded vacuum cleaner?

  • looking to purchase a vacuum cleaner, please suggest if this is better than GG's Dyson $399 Cinetic Barrel Vacuum?
I would prefer bagless but if bag are cheap wont mind just chucking straight in the bin, without having messy dust that my nostrils breath up.

:D Plus I have $70 Gift card from HN

Bagged all day and everyday. Bagless vacuum cleaner loses suction quickly, meaning you have to empty the canister frequently to maintain suction power.

      • Dysons don't lose power even when bin contents are over the line.

    • v8 animal $480

  • Thanks. Productreview feedback is glowing so snagged one, couldn't resist. Dyson would be nice, but can't bring myself to fork out close to a grand for a V10.

Anyone know whether it's worth paying the extra $72 for this model?

I bought that one some time back, but honestly this is a way better deal. As people have mentioned, miele vacuums are REALLY powerful; you certainly don't need more power! Also, this one is made in Germany, the C2 Celebration is made in China.

      • OK awesome I'm sold now for the C2, thanks for the feedback!

Are these models without the powerhead suitable for carpeted homes, specifically a unit? The vacuum is listed as a "hardfloor" model.

My old vacuum has a non powerhead and it is fine.

    • Where did you see it being listed as a hardfloor model? I think it's suitable for both tiles and carpet as a friend of mine has the same/similar model and has no complaints.

      • Almost everywhere esle but HN, even the Mieli site.

I use mine without a powerhead for carpeted areas. It's generally pretty good, just because the vaccum is really quite powerful. Having the powerhead would be better for cleaning, but for my apartment at least I've been more than happy without.

      • How this goes with timber floor?

The bottom model Miele I bought 20 years ago is still going strong. It's been used accidentally twice without bags for far too long by the wife and still not had any issues. It even survived 8 years of share house life.

  • Do not forget that you could always price-match at Goodguys and contribute your part towards tanking hardly normal.

  • Tempting. Looks like this one has the retractable bristle head. There's also a model with dedicated hard floor head.

    • yeah but it's unclear though from the pics, maybe wander into HN tomorrow to ascertain and buy

Does anyone know if the bonus 2 Years Supply of Dustbags is included in the price of $197, sorry if this a dumb question lol but there was no mention of it until checkout.

    • +2

Yes I got 3 today and was given 6 boxes of bags 2 years supply each

      • cheers

        • +1

Make sure you ask if you are doing click and collect as they will conveniently overlook the extra bags.

@fuzzboy: @Dex38313 thanks guys picked up one in store, they were tryna tell me that I'll get the dust bags later lol and then they were giving me 1 instead of 2, you guys rock!!!

      • and this can be used on both carpets AND tiles yeah? Figured who better than you to answer this since you got 3 lol :P

        • +1

Yep, it has a foot-switch to change between hard floor and carpet modes on the floorhead

  • Thanks bought one, very powerful suction, great buy!

  • Seems this is no longer available
