    • Me … at the moment.

      Although $15 shipping to WA

    • me, still did not pull the trigger.

Not playing much Android games, and did not have Nvidia streaming PC yet.
      Not watching much youtube
      Don't have subscription with Netflix

The only thing I want to buy is Kodi and watch oversea channels by third party apps, but guess I don't have much time for it.

So … still did not buy it :D

    • I use a laptop + projector

    • Me. I thought this was a graphics card

Me (insert number here). If I hadn't just bought a Vodafone TV I might have.

      • Same.

Really happy with the VTV, the only downside I've come across is that Amazon Prime seems to stutter no matter what I watch unfortunately. Netflix works sweet though.

    Great price O O!

With all these NVIDIA SHIELD deal, new model soon?

    • Thats whats holding me back. These have been around for a while and i don't think are hdmi 2.1 capable.

and it is updated to latest Android TV.

I guess 4K content playback from an external hard disk works with this device? Or it only streams 4K content?

    • +1

It supports 4K playback from USB media.

    • +1

Also can stream 4K from a NAS with Plex fine.

  • $60 for controller, or asus controller at $20

  • As someone who doesn't know a huge amount about this product, those who own it what do you mostly use it for?

I legitimately thought this was some kind of android gaming console.

    • +6

Mostly watching porn. But you can use it to watch Youtube or Netflix as well.

      • +1

Sounds like a great box with happy ending.

    • +2

      Everything.

Netflix. Youtube. Kodi. Android gaming. Steam game streaming.

Mine is also set to show popup notifications from my Home Assistant setup if some is at the door, the garage door is open too long, etc. I can also check on various security cameras via the tv.

It can also act as a Google Assistant to do smart home functions, via the remote's microphone. I haven't dug into that though since we have a Google Home in the same room.

      • Hey what do you use to detect if someone is at the door ?

        • +1

Just my Xiaomi button-powered doorbell at present. I hope to get a camera eventually and motion sensor.

      • How did you get this going? Would like my Arlo camera system to do this it possible.

Got a FireTV 4k for 70 bucks and pretty pleased with it!

Kodi, iPlayer, ALL4 and performs great

Worth mentioning as another option especially as Amazon black friday etc sales coming up

    • +1

Where did you buy your 4k firestick thanks

    • +1

Where did you get it for $70

      • +1

        Amazon UK Prime Day
But Black Friday is in a few days so if buying from US/UK with forwarder it's almost guaranteed to be on sale

Not in stock on AU yet though

    • Does it actually work with prime though? My gen1 fire TV refuses to work with prime, although Netflix and Kodi is fine

  • How much is shipping to VIC?

    • $8.62 to Melbourne (3000) through eParcel.

  • There is no pickup option unfortunately

    • I selected pickup and i have picked up from them many times before.

    • Put your postcode in first to see shipping options and one of them is pickup.

      • I did that but next step is confirm shipping method with no option to pickup. I live 10 doors from their Richmond branch

    • Standard pickup service $0 if you live near a store

      • I selected that option. After clicking next I was asked to enter a shipping address. Then the next step is to select between courier and Aus post. No way to pickup

    • bugger, already bought through mwave with pick up :(, would have preferred delivery.

      • I presume i cant cancel once its been paid for as i paid via credit card.

        • I'm sure you could cancel and ask for a refund? I'd imagine they wouldn't mind too much.

          • @doweyy: Done, they were able to cancel it, saves me a trip out there.

    • Many thanks - looked the OP's deal but the shipping killed to WA!

    • Thanks, got one

  • What do people use these for? What's the benefit of this over just buying chromecast?

    • Simplest answer is a remote control. Then, the fact that you can do it all then use your device for something else.

For instance, my little kids can turn this on and navigate to their saved YouTube channels or Netflix logins without needing to manage a $300 tablet or phone.
