  • Good capacity on this USB-PD Powerbank

The Only USB PD Portable Charger Up To 30W

Rather get the Cygnett 20k which has up to 45W through PD.

Can't charge my Xiaomi Air with this.

    • +1

Second the Cygnett suggestion. 45w is cool for Macbooks

      • yeah but this is better than Cygnett 20k if you don't need that high power output. I'm still waiting on the Cygnett coz I need 45W too E480 xD It's been a while since the last deal tho….

        • How does one determine if they need a 'high-power output' power bank?

          • @magic8ballgag: Depends on what you need to charge. Some laptops need 45W+ power output to charge it efficiently if at all?

            • @ayad: Fair enough, would the supplied AC charger be a good indication of what the device requires?

          • @magic8ballgag: check charging req for your device

          • @magic8ballgag: Or just post the model number, Ozb will tell you yes or no

        • How is this better than the Cygnett? Based on the capacity?

  • I have this. It's superb. It charges my Lenovo X1 Carbon so very happy.

    • I thought x1 carbon requires min 45w. U got x1 carbon G6?

      • @Aussie88: @ayad: yes I can confirm that it charges the X1 gen 6. Check here for a list of power banks that do.

        https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co…

It's got enough juice to charge it while you're using it. Very slowly but the point is that it works. If it's off and you're charging it I think it's about 2 hours to fully charge it.

    • how? is it very slow though?

  • damn. got excited but only 30W

  • This should technically work with the new ipad pros right(USB-C)?

    • +1

Should technically, but note "The battery pack will charge your laptop once after connected. However if it is recharged from the laptop, please long hold the power button for 5 seconds to reverse the charging", the new iPad pro could encounter the same problem as some people have reported using other USB-C power banks

      • ah I see thanks!

    • Theoretically - but this is Apple we're talking about…

  • are there any that can charge the HP Spectre?

  • -4

I have to call bullshit on this, just like all power banks pretty much.
Price for 500+ lots of genuine Panasonic NCR18650B cells are around the $10 mark + GST.
This supposedly has 8 of those cells, hence the naked, wholesale value of the cells alone exceed the price of this unit.
If it was legit i'd be buying a few of these to strip the cells out of, seems unlikely but as i don't have one to prove it i won't neg.

    • +1

Here's a teardown review of this powerbank if you wanna check the cells, the one torn apart had 8 LG cells
      http://bbs.chongdiantou.com/thread-21623-1-1.html

    • NCR18650B $10 a piece? You crazy bro? It probably cost around $3 a piece

      • Yeah, for counterfeits.
It's the most counterfeited cell in the world.
If you can link a reputable wholesaler that can do them for $3 a cell i'll buy them right now.
