For 24 hours on Friday, November 23, the day after Turkey Day, anyone checking out the trailer for the upcoming sequel “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” can journey back to where the fun began in Bricksburg with a full-length feature showing of the original blockbuster film that started it all, “The LEGO Movie.”

To launch their own personal screening, fans should enter the YouTube search keyword “Brick Friday” and select the promoted video for “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” at the top of the search results.

This unique Brick Friday opportunity will start on Friday, November 23 and expire after 24 hours. For more information, please visit http://www.thelegomovie.com/

  • Awesome, it's a great movie!

It start about 7pm this Friday for us, and go until 7pm Saturday.

    • Thanks mate. I'll update OP.

  • My 3 year old has watched this about 50 times on Netflix. Looking forward to the sequel.

Are we certain this will be available in Australia? I got all excited about YouTube apparently posting 100 movies for free, only to discover that (as far as I could tell) it was US only.

It is not a movie, it is an extended ad.

the first time in its history YouTube has rolled out a full-length movie within an ad

Totally forgot YouTube has ads. Haven't watched one for years on Google msuic subscription

It's always jarring when I view YouTube on someone else's computer!

@t3chshopper: Your life improves considerably when you cut out advertising although you cannot avoid it outside the house. A few countries have banned outdoor advertising because of the deleterious health effects it has.

Seems crazy to me that parents plonk their very young kids in front of advertising from day one setting them up for lifelong depression and irrational behavior but hey, they drive their kids to school instead of letting them walk which is much safer so … beats me.

            • @Diji1: Much safer? There are more car accidents involving children than children being abducted walking to school…….

            • @Diji1: Agreed. I love that my kids view TV shows via only the following:

              • Netflix
              • Kodi
              • ABC iView

They see so little advertising compared to what I was exposed to, and it shows in their behaviour. Junk mail is probably the only advertising that makes it into our house. And of course in the Christmas lead-up there is plenty of it.

@t3chshopper: So you are screwed up and your kids are okay?

                • @onlinepred: I'd prefer it that way than the other way around!

                  • @t3chshopper: Feels like you took things the wrong way, I was brought up on ads and I'm fine. Social media and magazines are the only real enemy to youth.

        • This is what adblockers are for. Not sure if there is anything you can do about smart TVs etc though.

    • You can access those movies via a VPN, sucks that they didn't give it to Australia. I'd imagine this one might be available to AU though..

    Starts 23/11 1900 and running till 24/11 1900

    That was 118 years ago

  • Pretty sure this is streaming on Netflix currently.

  • what if I have Youtube Premium that removes all ads? fml…..

    • I believe that you won't see any ads if you have premium.

    • Sign out?

  • With just one ad? Is the ad in the middle of the movie, is it a banner ad? A little Coke logo in the corner would be okay.

    • No way, I am a Pepsi fan

      • Maybe they could give you a toggle to switch between the Pepsi and Coke logo, depending on which drink you prefer.

        • You don't get to switch because Google already knew which drink you prefer.

          • @alvian: Damn google

          • @alvian: Google is basically getting paid by the Coke people to lure Pepsi customers, and paid by Pepsi to lure the Coke customers.

Thanks OP, reminded me of this deal. Movies Anywhere are currently offering Happy Feet, The Martian and The Fate of the Furious for free if you sync 2 new accounts :)

  • ops, thought it was the 2nd movie they were streaming before release. Had me excited.

Just download the movie for free off TPB or any other torrent site and then you can watch the movie anytime you want. No need to wait for Friday.

  • Anyone got it working?

  • +5

I watched the trailer a couple of times and couldn't get the "ad" either. But poking around reddit, I found someone in r/movies has posted the actual link to the (unlisted) movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV875tTWW5o. Enjoy!

    • Awesome thank you

The uploader has not made this video available in your country.

    • Use VPN (switch location to US), if you have one.

  • Doesn't work without a VPN ;-(
