Sim Cards for Visitors

Hi all

Just need some help. Local here so buying a sim on plan or monthly is a no brainer. Heap of family have arrived and i need to get them sims as they want to stay connected.

Just wondering if anyone had suggestions on sim cards that i can buy today and activate for tourists (do some need registrations still these days)?

I was thinking if they predominantly need internet maybe getting amaysim sim cards. Othereise we are taking a trip regionally (margaret river) so thinking a telstra network sim (is it aldi or kogan that does telstra network?i know woolies does).

Recommendations??? Id say 1 to 3gb data would suffice. Amaysim goes $10 internet packs…but im not familiar on best practice.

  • Kogan Mobile 40GB/30 Days for $0.99 — got some when my inlaws came over last month. Obviously it's not going to work if you need it today as you'll have to wait for them to post out the SIM cards.

Do check the Mobile Plans page for the current prepaid plans — some are current SIM offers where you can pick up from the supermarket.

  • TPG has monthly starter packs for new users half price for the first 6 months. Starting at $10 (normally $20) unlimited calls and text and 4Gb of data. No lock in contract pay by the month.

  • Telstra network if regional coverage is important. The recent Boost deal maybe?

    • Sorry late response but ended up with the $15 boost deal as it was more thab half off!
