cheaper on amazon plus 12% cashback from shopback

    • When does the 12% cashback end?

    • +5

      They're $398 on amazon.

      • my bad. thought it's bose one…
        need to go to bed…

Sony AU is a weird company. The black cans of these headphones are $100 more expensive than these. WTH!

    • +1

because black stuff is usually most popular

      • Why wouldn't they make everything black then. Henry Ford style

  • +5

If you TRS these they're effectively $283.
    Since you'll be invoiced $399.

    • doesn't TRS only refund the GST (10%)?

      • You'll be invoiced $399 as eBay pays the 20%.
        $399/11 = GST

Weird, on the mobile, condition says brand new but then under item description it says refurbished. On the desktop version, see no reference to refurbished. Definitely listed as brand new though so must be brand new…

From their FAQ: What condition are the products that are available to purchase?
sonyaustralia : All products are either ex-demonstration, box damaged or manufacturer refurbished. We are unable to advise what situation a particular product falls into furthermore, in the case of refurbished units, what any of the original issues (if any) were or provide photographs of the actual units or private viewings of actual units.

Note sure how they're allowed to list them as new?

Bought the tagged refurb one from the last sale and it arrived completely sealed and box not damaged at all.

      • +1

Can they just re-seal the box for ex-demo/reburbished units though?

        • I'm not so sure if they do that, but as far as I'm concern I did received a brand new unit.

No signs of it being used, ex-demo, nor refurb.

I did read some comments from a different thread saying they also received a brand new unit from a "refurb" stated sale.

damn looking to get the black one

  • Amazon have matched this price (silver only).

  • I have had these headphones for a few months now, they're amazing, best headphones i ever bought! If you travel or go to a loud gym i don't think these can be beaten, i weighed up these and the bose for a while before purchasing and the Sony's are imo better than the bose.

Do you use them for the gym? Reviews seem to say sweat is the biggest problem for the sonys.

      • Yeah i do use them for the gym 3-5 times per week, i sweat at the gym so i don't see that as an issue, i just wipe them down when i'm done, the main issue with my gym is they play ridiculously loud music and the ANC of these works amazingly in that situation.

I can't vouch for any other over the ear headphones in regards to sweat/gym because i used to use shure in ears.

If you sweat a lot i feel like that's going to be an issue regardless of the design.

      • I bought these headphones a month ago for $376, woe is me :). They are great head phones. Noise cancelling is ace and build quality fantastic. However a few minor issues - there was crackling in the left cup after a few days when using noise cancelling which made them unusable. I resolved it with a good rattle but still worried that it will come back and this is a known issue online. Also in the gym these headphones slip off my head when lying horizontally on the bench, not sure if it is sweat or what but it is very annoying!

        • Can't say i have any of the above issues and i do inclined sit ups in the gym without headphones falling off.

        • John McEnroe it?

  • Out of stock :( one buyer bought 10 today morning..wow
