    These are great for camping

These are great but get expensive very quickly.

What we've done is kept the bin but not use the cartridge refills, instead just get normal bin bags to put inside once the cartridges have ran out. Still keeps the smell away but much cheaper that way.

I just buy the super long rolls of refill plastic off ebay (which are scented as well)

Same price on eBay delivered if you have eBay Plus https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tommee-Tippee-Sangenic-TEC-Nappy… , if not you can do free click and collect. If you're buying other things you may be able to use codes/Cashrewards to bring the price down as well.

    • Correct, that's from baby bunting as well. Code 'pounce' will bring it down to $26.55 on top of free delivery for ebay plus members.

Post updated to include ebay price. Thanks ynotrekab

  • Wouldn't bother. Useful info here

  • we bought an Ubbi Nappy Pail (https://www.amazon.com.au/Ubbi-Steel-Diaper-Pail-Light/dp/B0…) during Black Friday. we got it for $58.50 and while it is 2x the price, I believe the cost evens out as we use the normal garbage bags for this bin. airtight when closed but it does not individually contain the smell so it still burns your nose when you open the pail. anyway, i think this is a suitable alternative for people who are (a) worried about the cost of refills or (b) concerned about additional plastic going to landfills

    • It You can get cheap biodegradable plastic tubing on ebay to refill the casettes yourself.

      • the one we bought does not require a special bag so we use the normal garbage bags. you can use biodegradable or degradable bags if needed but apparently, they are not environment friendly as well. short of it is that by using this pail, we stopped using individual nappy bags and it works out cheaper than the alternatives (Tommee Tippee, Sangenics, etc)

Yeah I heard biodegradable plastics are not that biodegradable.. (unless you can find what you need in a sustainably produced starch-based bioplastic - which really will compost quite readily)
