Heard good things, rates well, good for gaming. I've been keeping my eye on this TV as well.
I'm no TV connoisseur but I would buy it again. The interface is very responsive and the picture quality is very good for what it is (not OLED but decent blacks and local dimming, unlike the lower 7100 model which I thought was a bit disappointing when I saw it in store). Refresh rate and response time are also supposedly good for gaming but I haven't used it for that.
is this 2018 model ? They have freesync
is the price difference of around $700 worth it from the series 7?

Definitely. The NU8000 is twice as bright and all round a better TV.
I just set up a 65 inch, and thought that was big, so a 75 would feel like a monster!
Don't forget if it fits in your car, because chances are it probably wont!
