Woolworths 1000 Points (Worth $5) for Only1 $100 Visa Cards + $6.95 Fee

90

Very sad to see the fees going up from $5.95 to $6.95

as well as the bonus dropping from 2000 to 1000 points

seems everything is getting devalued these days

no mention of limits, so im going to take a guess and say there is no limits

Will be interesting to see if anyone wants to buy anyway

Ill admit this deal isnt going to be popular with everyone, but i know people who will stock up on it

    1000 points = $10

    $10-$6.95 fee = $3.05

Better off buying $100 gift voucher with 5% off?

    • +4

      1000 points = 5$

so it is actually even worse

    • +1

      2000 points is $10

  • +4

So you pay $6.95 to make $5?

    • Amex to visa = Not really worth but maybe
eGift cards to visa (where still accepted) = $96.60 for $100

      • +1

For months i have not seen or experienced or heard any place that has accepted egift to buy only 1 visa cards,

        happy to be proven wrong

        • Local store does, 5606

          • @[Deactivated]: tempted to catch a plane there :)

            • @Samsungnote10: Just a warning; takes legitimately 1-2 minutes per a card in processing times. Also staff do have to confirm the purchase, but it's more a prompt telling them to confirm the cards have activated correctly after transaction is finished. The prompt is BEFORE you even select a payment method, so isn't really an issue at all.

              • @[Deactivated]: Staff came over to tell me to take cards to staff-assisted checkout because of the 2 min delay messing with their operation. So, he happily cancelled before payment and took the cards to the counter.

Also, 2-min delay gives the unsuspecting ones plenty of time to think and at one time onE of them went and consulted with 3 different staff. So, I had to explain everything 3 times. Took me over 1 hour to come out with 10 cards! Could have enjoyed a nice afternoon at the beach!

                Never again!

                • @[Deactivated]: Lol, I had similar except the staff were all apologising, including the manager… Was even offered a free drink while they tried to sort it (this was before I/they knew ~2 minutes a card is normal. I did 5 cards).

  • Pay with the edge and get 300 points, which costs $1.95

  • Good for gifts

  • The limit is usually max ten cards per account

  • +7

    Saving of -$1.95.

It’s almost as if they don’t want us to take advantage of / ozbargain them anymore.

  • You are paying more to get less.

  • It's a deal because you partially rebated the fee through points. Some people may want an anonymous card or privacy reasons or a gift.

    • or to get AMEX qualifying spend and points where you can only pay with VISA. Although usually these deals are worth $10 and reimburse the fee totally.

Save on the packaging and plastic, and use $100 cash instead.

  • +1

For those that say no deal, the people that are buying this are essentially buying points at a decent price. Its actuallt a decent deal but not a screaming bargain

    • +1

The problem might be the activation fee. Many cards instore still display $5.95 fee. It is possible no points will be given from these $5.95 fee cards. It happened when the EFTPOS cards' fee increased.

      • Definitely. I would bet anything the 5.95 ones are excluded

  • Buying 800 points for $6.95 is reasonable but not fantastic

  • Sorry it’s 740 points

    • Where did you get those figures from?

  • I just bought a card and the purchase fee was $5.95, i think there is a misprint on the advertising. All cards on the rack had $5.95 purchase fee.

    • So you got 1k pts for one card purchase?

      • +1

Yeah 1k points for one card purchase.

        • -1

Can you confirm you received the points, please. As hellohello123 said above, and has been mentioned before on other threads, that the cards with $5.95 fee would not get the bonus points.

  • Town hall isn’t accepting eGC for prepaid visas. Any woolies in Sydney still accept eGC for visas?

  • +1

    I got some wierd number.
    I bought 6, for $635.70, and I got 6360.00 pts.

    I get the 6 x 1000, but I don't know where the rest 360pts come from.

    • +1

      With eGC?

      • Nope, paid by card

    • I think it could be the Christmas Bonus:

3X POINTS every time you spend $50 or more in one shop*
5X POINTS every time you spend $100 or more in one shop*
** 10X POINTS every time you spend $150 or more in one shop* **

Still need to wait & confirm

    • The system just set at 10 times points for $105.95 amount spent.

      10*105.95=1060
