    Please note the following:

    • Binge/Kayo is currently in the process of being offboarded from the Ultimate gift card scheme (and this started on Tuesday). Ultimate Him gift cards can continue to be exchanged for Binge/Kayo gift cards until a FAQ is posted on the Ultimate gift card website saying Binge/Kayo is no longer a partner. I have no idea when this will happen, so if you want Binge/Kayo, exchange ASAP.

    • The Body Shop was added to the Ultimate Students gift card on Monday. Any Ultimate Students gift cards will now work at The Body Shop (even if they do not have The Body Shop logo on the physical packaging).

  • Does anything stop this TimeZone deal from stacking?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/920515

    • no, go crazy!

      • Promo doesn't seem to allow gift cards through the app.

        That was a waste.

        • you have to go to a venue to use gift cards

    • thanks OP

  • Any quantity limit of Ultimate Gift Card?

  • Can you stack the ultimate gift cards multiple times to use in store? Never used them before

    • +10

It depends on the participating retailer you have in mind, because it depends on:

      • Whether the participating retailer accepts Ultimate gift cards in-store (and not all do), and

      • Whether the participating retailer can accept multiple Visa cards in one transaction (as the Ultimate gift cards pictured in this deal run on the Visa network).

      For example:

      • JB Hi-Fi appears to have no redemption limit for EFTPOS payment cards coded into their checkouts for one transaction. The OzBargain record is 99.

      • The Good Guys appears to have no redemption limit for EFTPOS payment cards coded into their checkouts for one transaction. The OzBargain record is 100.

      • Officeworks appears to have no redemption limit for EFTPOS payment cards coded into their checkouts for one transaction. The OzBargain record is 50.

      • 99 Bikes appears to have no redemption limit for EFTPOS payment cards coded into their checkouts for one transaction. The OzBargain record is 53.

      • IKEA appears to have no redemption limit for EFTPOS payment cards coded into their checkouts for one transaction. However, if you are a self checkout, you will need to ask a staff member for assistance to do this (because the staff member needs to have the checkout in an assist mode before you can redeem a specific amount from a Visa card). The OzBargain record is 24.

(All the information I have provided so far is taken from the FAQ linked at the bottom of the deal description.)

      • HOYTS will not accept Ultimate gift cards in-store at their cinemas (or on their website), as HOYTS is an exchange-only partner. That means if you want to use your Ultimate gift card at HOYTS, you need to go the Ultimate gift card website and exchange the full or partial gift card balance for a digital HOYTS gift card.
  • Perfect timing, just about to but ikea

  • Is it better to convert to Qantas Points or EDR dollars, and by how much?

    • +2

Depends if you’re using the Qantas points for flying or not. To me, 1000 Qantas points is worth far more than $10 at Woolworths.

  • Can anyone confirm that the Student cards are limited to $50? Looking to grab some things from Ikea but with the 10 limit per person that'll only have me at $500

Also, is there a limit on how many gift cards can be used at payment online?

    • The catalogue doesn’t say 10 card limit for the ultimate card

      • Awesome. Thanks!
But the max per card is $50? Anyone know whether there's a max usage online at ikea? Or can we keep going til we run out of cards

        • +1

the max per card is $50?

The largest fixed denomination for Ultimate Students gift cards sold at multiple retailers (including BIG W) is $50.

I am not sure whether BIG W sells a variable-load Ultimate Students gift card (where you can load up to $500), but that point is irrelevant, because the BIG W catalogue does not show a picture of it (and the catalogue is very clear only the pictured denominations are part of this deal).

Anyone know whether there's a max usage online at ikea?

This FAQ from the FAQ wiki page linked at the bottom of the deal description has an answer for your question.

          • +3

@WookieMonster: confirming there are variable load ultimate students in BIGW but they are not part of the sale (doesn’t discount at checkout)

      • +2

BIG W's checkouts will not let you purchase more than ten gift cards in one transaction.

Whether you can purchase ten gift cards in one transaction (or more than ten gift cards across multiple transactions) will be at the discretion of staff members at the store. You never know, you may have a staff member think something fraudulent is going on if you are trying to purchase ten gift cards in one go and stop you…

        • +1

          Good to know, thanks wookie

    • Do you know if they're fine to be used online for Ikea? Like multiple for one purchase?

    • In catalogue they say only $30 student offer not $50

      • +2

In store they have a page on display at the Gift Card area saying that is an error, and the $30 card doesn't exist (for Big W), it was supposed to be the $50 card.

        • my big w the page said in error that the promo only applies to the $30 haha

          • @Hvrd: I purchased $50 student card x 10 today with 10% off.

            • @Kennnnnnnne: How did you get 10% off?

              • @snuke: Don't know, just check out at counter, maybe they system didn't change 🤔

Sad :( , no deals on $500 Gift Card denominations. I am looking for a purchase of $2k.

  • Any gift card can be used at Costco?

  • TBH I have never seen so many Ultimate GC in a single store. Thanks OP got one

  • Woolworths no longer accepted Category Choice Groceries cards to pay for any gift cards. has this been patched to BigW pos?

    • used a special super shopper gift card and able to split pay.

  • I may be spending about 2k on luxury escapes soon.

    From my understanding:

    Using 10% off HIM cards.
    I get $100 cards- I get 10 cards + wife gets 10 cards.
    Then exchange to Luxury escapes

    Or.

    Using 20x EDR points
I get 8 X 250 or 4*500 (whatever is available) , and no need to do value exchange.

Saving is same either way ($200 either saves up front or saved on Woolies shop).

Can someone pls tell me my info is right. Lol

Yep, that would work. Just make sure you purchase the Ultimate Him gift cards, not the TCN HIM gift cards.

A word of warning though: stock will likely be difficult to find, because you will be up against people who want the Ultimate Him gift cards to use at popular retailers (e.g. JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, EB Games).

      Using 20x EDR points
I get 8 X 250 or 4*500 (whatever is available) , and no need to do value exchange.

Sounds about right, but just make sure you purchase ten or less gift cards on each Everyday Rewards account.

I may be spending about 2k on luxury escapes soon.

I am assuming you will be making two transactions on the Luxury Escapes website?

Section 1.2h of the Luxury Escapes gift card terms says The maximum redemption value for Gift Cards not purchased directly through the Website is limited to $1,500 per order.

(In this context, Website refers to the Luxury Escapes website.)

        Cheers Wookie!
Appreciate that info mate. Did not know about the $1500 cap on gift vouchers per order.
        Great pick up

Sounds like the edr way may work out easier for me in terms of stock

        Thanks

I am unable to redeem my Apple account balance and got told by Apple that they couldn't do anything else.

  • Anyone got luck finding the cards in Melbourne?
    How often do they restock?

    • Bought a few at Highpoint

Anyone know how long these point take to transfer to the rewards system, then onto Qantas? Points club expires in about a week.
    Thx

    • +1

I'm wondering the same thing. With Woolworths the points are near instantaneous.

My first purchase of gift cards through Big W and although my EDR card was scanned and the transaction shows in my EDR app, the points earn shows as zero.

I know it says up to 7 business days, but wondering whats the typical timeframe I should expect the points to be available.

      • 7 days been and gone. Messaged them and, as you said, they pointed out it’s 7 business days (why?!). O well.

Bought multiple $30 Ultimate Student Gift Cards from BigW yesterday. I tried to exchange them for IKEA e-gift cards for online shopping through exchangeyourcard.com.au, but the only available options are $20, $50, $100, and $200. There is no option to redeem the full $30 value on each card, meaning $10 is left unused on each after exchanging. This is really frustrating and quite unreasonable. I couldn’t find any discussions about this issue online. Is there any possible solution besides physically redeeming the cards in an IKEA store?

    • I just realised the same issue, the only way I can think of is if you pick up in store, use $20 ikea gift card then use $10 as credit card.

      • In-store shopping at IKEA can be tough for anyone buying a lot of heavy furniture, since you need to find everything yourself, move it to the checkout, and then arrange home delivery. I heard it might be possible to exchange Ultimate gift cards for IKEA gift card at an IKEA store, which could be a workaround. Has anyone actually done this before? Would appreciate any experiences. Thanks!

For anyone interested, Menulog was added to the Ultimate Him gift cards today. Any Ultimate Him gift cards operating on the Visa network - including the ones in this deal - will now work on Menulog, even if the Menulog logo is not on the gift card packaging.

I bought a 30 apple gift card and didn’t get any bonus points? Anyone else?
Edit: website can take 7 days for bonus points to be applied - will wait!

    • I bought a few on Friday and didn't get any points yet, seems to take a little while.

    • You planning on buying the new iPhone? Wondering if any deals will be better than this…

      • +1

Yep, new iPhone 17 that's coming next month. I've never been able to get any deals on them anywhere near release date apart from deals on apple gift cards and 10% off seems to be as good as it gets these days.

    • I also bought an Apple gift card but haven’t received points yet. Does BigW usually take this long to process? Woolworths gift cards arrive instantly.

      • I just chatted with EDR, I should have got 500 points and messaged them and they credited me 3000 points, not complaining. Give them a message as they may give extra points (like in my case) as a "gesture of goodwill".

      • I just spoke with the Rewards customer service, and they quickly added the points to my account manually. Their service attitude was also excellent.

  • I'm planning on buying the new iPhone. I wonder is it worth buying the apple gift cards now or are there normally better deals than potentially getting 10% off?

Word of caution for anyone who is looking to or has purchased the One4All Ultimate Him Gift cards:

I purchased a number of them on the weekend and tried to use them yesterday; they were all zeroed out and said that they had been redeemed.
Yesterday was the first time I opened them. I checked that all of them appeared tamper free before I purchased them; the barcode was covered and it didn't look like they'd been opened at all.

The gift cards themselves have card details similar to a debit card (card number on the front, which was covered, & CVV/pin on the back which was covered by the scratch thing).

Every single one of the gift cards I purchased says that the balance was used on the same day I purchased them even though I only opened them myself last night.

I am now just waiting for the company to get back to me but waiting 1-2 business days and being out $$$ is quite distressing.

So I'd recommend using them asap or checking the balance of your cards.

  • shit I haven't got the Apple's points.

7 business days have elapsed for me without bonus points. I have contacted Everyday Rewards this morning and have yet to receive a response.

    • I had some time, so I called up and they credited the points for me immediately. Also, big thumbs up to Woolworths for keeping an Australian call center.

    • yeah same, I don't usually check/just assume it gets done but for some reason also decided to have a look today and nada. Followed their process to 'chat with Mandy' to submit receipt details…. probably nothing will be actioned until next week at the earliest.

      • I did the Chat with Mandy thing a few days ago and nothing happened, had to reach a person via the chat and then it got fixed.

  • Guess no one who didn't contact Everyday Rewards didn't get their bonus points for buying Apple gift cards from Big W? Still waiting for my points for purchasing a $30 gift card from Big W QV.
