  • really considering buying this as i need a new phone, is this an all time low price?

also opinion on 6 vs 8 gigs of ram, i do game a lot on my current phone

    • is this an all time low price?

      I think yes

also opinion on 6 vs 8 gigs of ram

Here not much of a good speed test but the more the RAM the better, especially for games.

Check out Gearbest the OnePlus 6 is $559 AUD https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_009356291241.html?wi…

      • +1

        6GB - 64B (Gearbest) vs 8GB -128 GB (Joybuy)

Also after adding shipping cost, Gearbest comes to AU$614.90. That makes this deal even better.

    • I got one 6 months ago. Very nice phone and I feel that with all the background apps the more ram the better.

    • I bought the 6GB version recently from Geekbuying ($548 AUD delivered (no GST), 12 days from order to delivery) and for my purposes (no games) ram usage averages 3.8GB (64%). I'd assume 6GB will suffice for the life of my phone given this year's Pixels are still 4GB (with 2 years of OS updates).
Coming from a Nexus 5X, any 2018 phone was likely to be a solid upgrade but I'm glad I waited for the OP6 deals rather than opting for the Nokia 7.1 (or yet to be released Pixel Lite or Nokia 7.1 plus).

  • This is a good price, very tempting.

Wish it had a headphone jack

    • +3

Not to be confuse with the 6T.

    • +2

      It has, the OP6T doesnt

      Your wish has been granted

  • Has anyone received their order for this phone from the last JoyBuy deal? (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/415153)
The shipping time might be a deal breaker for some people. [IBG JD-GZ-EE SP Free Shipping 20~30 days]

    • I have received two sharp phones just under a month of dispatch. Also keep in mind that this is peak time. So lower the expectations to get it shipped fast

    • So from that post a lot of us put orders in around the 11th November, the shipping was messed up somehow either through Joybuy or China post. A new order number has been sent today with an ETA of 30 days for shipping. Still no certainty whether we will receive the goods. If you’re happy to wait it is a good deal (not as good as the eBay 15% off, some picked up the phone for $570ish).

    • I didn't

    • Nope. My order got returned without reason and was shipped recently, so that's like 20-30 + 15 days shipping time for me :(

    • I'm 14 days into my "8-12 day shipping". The tracking data modifies itself every few days so I don't trust it's accuracy at all.

Meanwhile the screen protectors I ordered from them on "30-40 day shipping" were in Sydney 3 days ago…

  • +2

Got mine for $567 a few days ago during eBay's 15% storewide and cashrewards.

It had to be midnight black though.

  • This or Xiaomi Mi 8?
Camera is important for me, everything else is not so…

    • …then stay away from Xiaomi and OnePlus

      • I should mention that within a certain budget (up to $600).
Don't want to spend $1000 just for a camera.

Are you saying that cameras on these phones are bad or just not in the same league as the big brands (which cost more than a double)?

        • If you want a good camera on a budget price then go for last year flagship of Apple/Samsung especially Pixel 2, LG G7 also has excellent camera (with true wide angle front facing camera which is awesome for group selfie)

        • Maybe wait for Pixel 3 Lite.

      • +1

Not sure if I agree with this comment

Dxomark rates the mi 8 almost on par with the pixel 2 with a score of 99

For reference the pixel one scores 90.

The mi 8 will have pretty strong performance. OnePlus 6 isn't far behind at 96.

        • +1

For reference I've owned a pixel 2 xl previously and am actually considering a one plus 6 currently, and camera performance is important to me as well :)

  • GST? extra right?

    • Everything included as the title says “delivered”

  • +1

Does this have Bandwagon 28 and NFC?

  • +1

I own the OP6, albeit the 6/64gb model that i paid about $200 more for than this, and it is an awesome phone. Owned the 5 before this and will probably update when the 7 or 8. comes out.

Opted for the 6 for the headphone jack because im not giving up my headphone for wireless ones yet.

    • How is camera for low light like at night photos?

      • +1

It seems alright. I don’t take a lot of photos with it at night. For me it’s more of a utility device. I use it more during the day than I do at night.

  • OP6 is bloody awesome phone!

  • Geekbuying has 8/128gb for $479us

They use a crappy exchange rate if you change to AUD so better to buy in USD and have PayPal/your bank give you the exchange rate.

    https://m.geekbuying.com/item/Oneplus-6-6-28-Inch-8GB-128GB-…

    • Why would you pay US$479 when this is US$428

      • So you can get it next week not in January

        • What planet do you live on? I am on earth and it takes about a month.

          • @Pricebeat: From geekbuying I have never waited more than 5 days.

When you think about it, about a month is xmas, good luck getting anything delivered within a few days either side of xmas. On planet earth that doesn't happen you will get in January

  • I have been looking after this phone since long time. And this is the cheapest I found. But I bought 8 GB 128 GB Red variant from AliExpress on $672 - $50 cashback from Shopback on black friday rather than from JoyBuy. I did a lot of research about JoyBuy and found that it has very bad reputation regarding customer service and delivery. I decided not to spend a penny on it. In the comment section of this listing everone is saying that they felt lucky to receive the phone, quiet interesting.

  • This is adding GST on checkout which makes it 653. A bit steep for me personally. Will pass.

    • There is a coupon code to apply and even before coupon code it still doesn’t go up to $653AU. Not sure where you got that number from

      • the 8gb/ 128gb is 653, 6gb/64gb is 593

    • Any one else having issues with the code AExt7OFF? I'm getting a message of "Sorry, this coupon code is invalid"

  • I ordered this in the last deal from Joybuy on 10th Nov and havent recieved it yet. I checked the tracking on 17track.net a week ago and it said the item was getting sent back to the seller. Now when checking the tracking details it comes up as "unknown". Can anyone help with that?

    Edit: spelling

    • Yep if you look on the other thread they sent pretty much all back due to a packing/labelling issue. You should have a new tracking number so maybe check your joybuy account?
