From the wealth of past experience on this forum, do we think Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones will go on sale again any time soon?

Missed out on Black Friday offers as I thought they'd get better than they ever did. Now not sure whether to just go with a pair for $399 or wait for something closer to $300.

as they say on super ads
"past sales is not an indication of future sales. please wait for ozbragain topics before making your purchase"

    • I get that no one knows. But… someone probably has an inkling.

  • Some guy was claiming JB would offer them for $299 and it never happened. Wouldn't be surprised if they do closer to Christmas though, huge margins in these things.

    • They're not seeming to drop them from $499 so far, so that would be a surprise.

  • Guessing this plan didn't work out? Bargain hunting is speculative, i.e. no one can predict when the next sale is happening, or what % off; also, don't trust some of the 'inside scoops'. Just set an internal price you're willing to pay. The Good Guys corporate is unlikely to ever happen again, but there are plenty <$350. Qantas $305 was good for non-refurb (assuming you had points).

    • No real plan there.. But I guess it didn't work out either way. I've said to myself $350 or less should get me across the line. Kind of sick of monitoring this stuff now - I imagine there's some sort of automated way to do it, but i'm just clicking refresh like some sort of refresh monkey.

      • Everyone likes getting the best deal, but are you really going to spend hours of your life refreshing to save an extra $30?

By the time you lock in the next upgrade/model is that much closer as well. Choose your bargain battles.

        • I wholeheartedly agree. Just figure if it's 48 hours before I might pay $350 why pay $400 today. But yeah - this isn't something i've ever done before. GOt sold on the bullshit of Black Friday for the first time this year. Regretting any part of it.

Bought a set from Addicted to Audio on eBay for about $350. I'm out of this bargain game once and for all. Back to life.

  • I don't think so, luxury brands are seldom discounted before Xmas.

They are also much cheaper in Australia than in the USA. There has been some disputed talk on Whirlpool that they are a batch with faulty microphones, but I doubt if this is the cause.

Amazon's cheapest ever price is US$348, which is around AUD $550 if you include GST.

eBay US sells them for around $350, with the lowest price being an import from Australia!

  • There wasn't really any good deals on them during Black Friday unless you liked the Silver one anyway.
