Best Most Value Sim Plan under $30/M?

Hi All

i need to find a new sim plan. Current plan with Vaya for around $20/m for 2gb is shite value now and keep going over

I have seen deals for kogan, aldi and boost

they seem to be the best value as we only need 5+gb data. However i dont want to regret buying them now only to see BOGOF deals later

this is for my wife who doesnt want to bother with starter sim hacks and porting in and out. Just happy to pay a good value monthly fee for a sim only plan

Kogan 365 deal looks the best value at the moment. The other 2 are also good value, but if they are using telstra network, i would been keen to know if there are decent telstra deals atm so i can make use of the eSim feature

I know you can get bonus 5gb data and $10 credit, but i assume you negotiate a good deal first and then talk to chat later to ask for them ontop

Does anyone know of better plans than the kogan/aldi ones?

Thanks

  • Kogan is the best value for 365 day offers ..
Catch Connect is also good for 365 day plans if you want the Optus network.
As for a deal being beaten by a new offer after you buy it … you might need a crystal ball for that.

    • id rather avoid catch anything

what i mean about the new offer is that every comment about the kogan deals keeps looking for the buy one get one free deal

  • Belong

$10/1GB plus loads of half price sim deals meaning you only need to pay $20 for 15GB (activate, gift data to self, cancel - infinite data banking plus free shaped data if you run out).

Uses telstra network, behaves better than optus where I live (and kogan is unusable).

  • I’d get a Kogan SIM and see how the reception is for a month. If all good go with them.
If not just go Boost $30 month plan as they are Telstra.
The above is based on the fact your wife doesn’t want to staff around.

  • One solution is to use Telstra Prepaid $30 plan. Data is 8gb per month, plus 22gb bonuses the first 5 months to the databank.
You can regularly buy recharges at 30% off on ebay, so that is $21 per 28 day period.
The ebay discount (usually 5%) makes it $19.95 for 28 days.
Telstra starter sims can usually be had for a good discount also ($40 sim for $15 delivered atm).

This method is pretty simple and just involves entering a recharge code every 28 days, and buying a few recharges at once if you want the ebay discount. Obviously it includes full Telstra coverage if that is a thing for you. No lock-in is also a plus imo.

    • this is great

i assume the bonus data is possible as well?

    • i just had another look

can you do the prepaid max plan for a few months then switch back and forth between the $30-70$ long life plus plans for longevity?

      so instead of 273$ for 13 $21 recharges, its $15 for a 50% off $40 sim pack + 2x$30 186day sims or $70 for the 365 day one with 40gb data for 1 year 1 month

so thats 3gb data per month for $7 a month

  • How about going with this?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/407199

Its $45/m for 50gb with Telstra and $200 gift card. Assuming you are going to get something from JB anyway, makes it $28/m for 12 months…

  • Hopping on to this thread is there a good value mobile sim just for calls in Australia that can be stacked more than 365 days / 1 year for ease of use and longer peace of mind.

I love kogan but would love it more if kogan allowed more than 1 year of mobile prepaid stacking.

Will probably be aiming for another sub $25/month kogan mobile prepaid sim around February / March I think when my current 365 days plan expires.

    • i havent seen anything cheaper than the manual telstra recharges

you can setup direct debit to save a bit more but it wont be close to the manual recharges

the bonus data is limited so u might have to port out after 12 months

even with post paid, max benefit you get is 2 years before you should recontract as newer better plans come out by then anyway

  • Does anyone have a good opinion of Woolworths mobile? Uses parts of the Telstra network.

$20 recharge for 3GB per month. Unused portion rolls over to a bank of up to 100GB.
