      ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕ Wahoo!!!

  • is there a recommended time frame in which to use these? or if they are sealed up they will maintain freshness?

    • +2

Ideally at their freshest for about a month before more unique profiles start to drop off until they would be similar to what you may find on supermarket shelf that last around a year but are technically not fresh.

Some people find freezing works or Christmas is a good time to share or use as gifts if too much to drink within this timeframe 😁😁😁

      • thanks, sent through order for the 3 x $35 deal to be on the safer side

      • +1

Do these have a roast date?

Last time I ordered Manna Beans there was no indication of a date.

        • They are usually roasted a day or two before being sent out.

          • +1

@mouski: Usually. But you will never know.
I stopped ordering from Manna after receiving stale beans few times.

            • @SickDmith: Yes that's my concern as there should be no reason not to label the roast date unless you are deliberately hiding it?

  • +13

Hey manna, love your coffee. I have less than 0 interest in Decaf :P Can i add a note to change this to one of the others?

    • Certainly can my friend!! Please leave notes in Paypal if possible. See thread below. Thanks :)

      • I went through the PayPal option and didn't see "notes" section :-(
        I've emailed.
        Thanks

  • +2

Caffeine overdose over xmas if I wanna finish l these beans.

And yes. Would love to know if decaf can be swapped out.

    • Please send funds through Paypal to [email protected] so that notes can be left and we'll try our best. Can't promise though if it gets too busy but if notes are in Paypal then you have a 98% chance of request being met.

You'd be suprised though, it may be difficult to even tell that the decaf is in fact decaf. They are very chocolatey caramel when brewed as a milk coffee 🧐🧐

      • Agreed. You know it's decaf at the start, but it's a very satisfying brew.

      • Oh yeah… I can tell from my wife's poo face when she doesn't get her caffeine in time….
I feed her decaf coffee, I don't know what I might get myself into.

      • Is that the correct email address… seems like a typo… manan beans?
I want to order without the decaf but am not sure thats the right address to send money to

      • PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EMAIL IS [email protected]

The above thread had a Mistype ;) Any problems, please let me know. Thanks Simon

Thanks so much, you guys are awesome too!! Much love 💗💙💚💛💝

  • Great deal! Just ordered some Volcanic & Magical Unicorn off you otherwise I would take you up on this offer!

Easily the best beans I've had!

    • +1

Awesome, thanks for your kind feedback. I'll let our Unicorn know 🦄🦄🦄🦄

  • are these all roasted dark for espresso, or are they medium roasts that might be suitable for pourover?

    • +3

Depends on the coffee but generally we don't roast too dark as these are all direct trade specialty coffees cupping 85 points upwards.
Mainly Medium or medium dark on blends so that they will perform well for pretty much all brewing methods.

You can go light roast for pourover but then it will definitely impact other brewing methods negatively. We do custom roast to order though if you purchase through standard website procing and email roast profile. Can also add on extra 250g etc roasted light for pourover and shipping will be free if added to the deal

  • Anybody tried these that can offer comparison to Pablo & Rusty’s Porter St blend?

  • +2

7 bags + 1 gift makes it 2KG and usual deals are for 2KG anyway. Great marketing strategy I guess. Not really cheaper than usual deals.

    • +2

Yep they costs a bit more for bags and shipping but try our best to squeeze in at same price. Also will be clearing out any high end coffees that are left over :)

I think people like to try extra variety and can also share with family or pass on as gifts :)

  • Who do you use for shipping? Just checking to see if I can use a parcel locker

    • +1

Certainly can :) All orders are being shipped Aus Post Express

      • +1

All the coffee I have ordered have arrived in 3KG express post sachels so these 2KG and less deals have no impact on postage costs. Just Saying. Love the coffee though.

        • Correct, we normally use E-parcel which does charge extra few dollars if even 2 grams over the 2kg (including receipt or bag etc).

This is why we have temporarily started using the 3kg satchels for consumers as it overcomes this problem and allows these deals to be viable at this pricepoint.\

I could run cheaper commercial coffees but we want to keep the standards high and all our coffees are direct relationship coffees and normally cupping 85 points upwards.

Even our blending coffee Colombian Popayan is an 85 point coffee direct from the farmer and really popular as a single origin as well.

    Hi mate

Can you do any other offer for a reduced amount/price like you guys normally do?
7 bags is too much for a single person

  • +4

love your coffee, but i'd never use this much coffee in a decent time frame as it's only me drinking in the house hold. Any chance of a 3-4 bag deal?

    • +1

Happy to do 3 x 300g bags for $35 delivered for $35 with free gift included. Please send funds through Paypal to [email protected] and leave notes. Can't promise to give exact coffee requests but you're welcome to leave them anyway so we can try our best. Otherwise a random selection will be sent

      • Just sent a PayPal payment with comments for this deal. Thanks

  • Great deal and I took it up last year around April and didn't regret it. I just handed any excess bags out to family so all good here with the number of bags.

Can you tell us the approx date you'll be roasting to fill these orders? Thanks.

    • Roasted some today but will continue roasting and shipping on Monday and every day next week.

We roast daily especially approaching Christmas it's very busy so please allow a couple of working days to roast and ship.

First batch leaving overnight express on Monday :)

  • Cheers for the deal but 1.75kg beans for $60 is not great compared to other online/local roasters unfortunately.

    • I'm 90% sure the 'free' gift is another bag, just not confirmed which variety (so its 2kg for $60 —> 30kg. This is pretty much on par for local roasters (when you consider that this is 7 or 8 varieties)

      • Free gift is Coffee Cherry :) Also known as cascara. The fruit on the outside of the coffee bean (Bolivia Organic) that can be cold brewed and carmonated fro refreshing drink or hot brewed as a tea.

Very plum and fruit driven and can also be used with alcohol. One of the local brewing companies uses for their Christmas beer each year and ages for 6 months in wine barrels with cinnamon and other spices

        • Out of interest, does cascara have caffeine? Comparable to tea or coffee levels?

          • +1

@teddyp: @teddyp good question :) If brewed and drunk as a tea by itself then probable around 25% of the caffeine in coffee.

I cold brew and add lime and sugar and carbonate so about 5% of the caffeine a coffee would have. It has BDNF properties though and other alkaloids so promotes new cell growth and gives a quick clean clear boost to remove your morning brain fog :)

    • +1

Thanks for feedback. I suppose local roasters may not have to pay the $14 shipping and coffees vary greatly in price. The Ethiopian for example is a direct trade 90 point specialty coffee that costs twice as much as some other coffees.

Sorry we couldn't help on this occasion. Have a great weekend 😀😀

    • +1

Thanks Tex, we try to cater to as wide a group as possible but these things are subjective as is the attribute of perceived value. A basic example of this would be that although a Daewoo and a Ferrari may weigh the same in kgs, it doesn't necessarily mean they are both worth the same 🙂

I'd be pretty chuffed if I got a new Ferrari for $10,000 but pretty upset if I paid 2 million for a Daewoo haha.

Just playing with you but on a serious side, I suppose it would depend on what coffees you had. They vary greatly in cost and it may take a local roaster 2hrs+ to roast 7 coffees, upto 20% shrinkage of green bean in roasting, gas, electric, general business costs, 7 valved resealable craft bags and packing staff to process. It's actually not that profitable to be honest. Just a popular one for Christmas, to try different coffee and to give small gifts to share with the family or friends. I find a decent single origin would normally be at least $15 for a 250g bag in Brisbane ($105 for 7 bags) and that's without the $15 postage cost.

Gotta make some money somewhere ;)

      • All good @mannabeans, loving the Ferrari vs Daewoo (you're showing your age there!) weight comparison!

I guess as we are on the OzBargain site, we are always looking for 'deadset bargains', and I was just making comment that $60 for 1.75kg wasn't a 'massive' bargain as compared to some other online coffee deals, as well as my local roasters.

Perhaps you need to pump up the quality of your beans, or give their usual individual prices to emphasise the 'bargain-ness' of your deal?! :-)

Either way, it's always great to see coffee deals here and it has certainly broadened my coffee appreciation by being able to taste beans from interstate roasters.

Merry Xmas to you guys and to all the OzBargain coffee snobs out there!

  • Suitable for filter coffee? I've got an Aeropress and just bought a nice grinder :)

    • Will still perform well for Aeropress :)

  • Great coffee as always… we buy our beans here consistently and specifically visit the cafe for the great coffee and free unicorn rides after 2pm.

    • +1

Thanks, I was worried that someone might notice that our Unicorn was a white miniature pony with a toilet roll on it's head but so far so good ;)

  • Hi Rep - any plans for another Tea bundle? The Mrs loved the variety pack last time!

    • Sure, I'll check stock look into a tea offer for you guys next week. Otherwise if already ordering coffee in the meantime then you could add onto deal and take advantage of free shipping :)

  • Any recommendations for how to adjust grind/dose/extraction time for Caticorn?
I'm finding that I'm getting very short, sour drinks.
Using the Breville dynamic duo with the double basket, and so far with all other beans I've tried I haven't had to deviate much from the original settings I first found worked well, generally only giving the grind size a minor tweak if a particular blend seems to extract a little faster/slower, or if I've allowed some beans to age a bit past their best.
However with Caticorn I've tried making the grind size finer and extracting for longer duration, and I'm still getting under-extraction.
In the past I've used various Manna blends and single origins, Bay Beans Premium Reserve, Pablo & Rustys Porter St, St Ali, Cruze The Godfather and had good results from them all with current settings of 18-19 second grind time & 2-4 grind size (producing ~17-19g doses), moderate tamp pressure, and default BES920 temperature profile with pre-infusion for total extraction time of 29-31 seconds.

    • Sorry but it's hard to say as all equipment is different and I've not had any issues on my machine. Generally if extracting too quickly then try making grind finer, a slightly harder tamp or a bit more coffee in basket.

Genarally it performs best at around 20-25 sec extraction :)

  • Awesome! Will place an order and try to pickup Monday!

On another note. Do you still have the Columbia La Noira Libano Tolima ? It was the 2nd best thing I have ever put in my mouth. Would love to get some more! I couldn't see it on the site.

    • lol, what was the first? Actually out of that coffee but one of the farmer's sons lives locally and I believe there is a new shipment landing in 4 weeks :)

  • Can't seem to find anywhere to leave a note during payment

  • Is this better than baybeans?

  • where and how to leave a note in paypal? No one can answer this question? may have to order from Bay Bean.

    • There is an explanation in a couple of the above threads how to achieve this. You need to use the "send funds" option in Paypal and send to [email protected]

Using this method allows notes to be left in Paypal ;)

      • Thanks. will try later today.

  • Hey rep - any chance I can request the luckydip to be another decaf?

It's so hard to find decaf beans for me to grind (and caffeine after 5pm is a no no for me and sleeping), but still enjoy some 'coffee' after dinner.

    Thanks.

    • Sure. Please use send funds function in Paypal and send to [email protected]. This allows notes to be left for the packing team :) Thanks

      • Sweet. Thanks

      • -1

Just paid for an order an added no decaf please…

How can I work if I drink decaf ;-(

  • Was going to ask about grinding about I see its whole bean only.

  • Link to the 3 x 300g deal please

  • Hi,
