This is normal price for 3GB 1060. The $199 one was 6GB.

I recommend the red team instead for lower end budget GPU's. Radeon RX 580, 4GB VRAM for $236 dollars if you have ebay Plus (pay $15 shipping for those who don't) and you can save a bit more with cashback + 5% off Gift Cards.

Also you can claim the AMD Raise the Game promotion (2 free games).

    • I agree with scrimshaw

For the 3GB model it's not worth purchasing this one.

But for the 6GB 1060 it's significantly better and better value I believe in comparison to the RX580 especially gaming performance wise.

  • Probably a dumb question but this looks smaller than other graphics cards, and a fair bit cheaper than other 1060s. Is it made for lapstops or something? How will it perform compare to one of the other 1060s in this deal, like the Gigabyte 1060 WindForce OC 3GB for $340?

Finally upgrading from my 770 and tossing up between a 1060 and the RX580 for $224 mentioned in this deal.

Or maybe getting another used 770 and running SLI.

I eventually want a 1080 Ti but with the price of GPUs at the moment I can't bring myself to pay more than what they were worth a year ago. So I just need something that will get me through for the next year or so with my new 144hz monitor, and then get a 1080 Ti when the prices are more resonable.

It's not any smaller than normal graphics cards. It is still a 16x PCIE video card with a single fan cooler design but still occupies roughly the same space and height as the GB Windforce, it's just a inch or so shorter.

Don't go with SLi, games don't properly support multi-GPU nowadays and you're going to have very terrible minimum framerates.

      I eventually want a 1080 Ti

GTX 1080 Ti's are no longer in production, so you will be waiting for a card that will eventually only show up as used or second hand. However because the RTX cards have been flopping, the prices of secondhand 1080 Ti's actually went up, and people are paying $700 plus dollars for a used unit.

Your 770 is actually isn't too bad. I would hold on to that and perhaps think about upgrading to a RTX 2060 or 2070. That's if you don't care about Freesync or don't have that feature on your LCD.

      • Thanks heaps for your response.

Not sure if my monitor will have Freesync, I'll be getting it as a Christmas present. I was just worried about getting it and not being able to use it to its potential.

My GTX 770 gets about 140 FPS in CS:GO (the main game I play) at medium to high settings, so I thought I would get a new card so I could continue to play new games on higher settings at 144hz, especially if they're only around $200-$250 (and in the case of the RX 580, come with 2 games worth half the cost of the card). Something just to tie me over another year or so, and enjoy my new monitor.

I want to get out of that gaming yacht range!

Maybe I'll just wait till I get the monitor and if I'm not happy with it I'll grab a new card after Christmas.

Thanks for the tip on the 1080 Ti, looks like I'll be getting an RTX 2060 or 2070 in the future.
