Spare a thought for me, I paid $228 for it two months ago and yeah even though I got an AC Odyssey redemption from it, I still overpaid quite a bit. Didn’t think prices on these would fall so damn quickly

Thanks OP that's a great deal, picked one up

Part 2 of 10 of the new build!

  • What's the difference between the Samsung 970 EVO M.2 and the Pro ? Is there something the average computer user would notice ?

    • Pro has higher endurance and slightly faster speed, but at a significantly high price premium. Not worth it.

    • Read speeds are basically the same. The Pro has significantly faster write speed. Pro has double the service life - but you're not likely to be using the drive before it dies anyway. Average home user should get the Evo

      • Thanks - sounds like very sound advise, I'll stick with the EVO.
        Cheers

    • You'd only really notice a difference if you were thrashing the SSD with writes, like if you were using it as a cache drive for a server or to host multiple VM datastores. The average user doesn't benefit much going from EVO to Pro.

      • Thanks for that - look's like I don't really need a pro and will stick to the evo.

  • Loving it. Picked up the 2TB ($659.00) with the Ebay coupon PXMAS1 at $593.10 (& Ebay Plus offer - free postage), then after the Cashback promo ($167), $426.10.

Cant find any 1 TB ones.

    • I feel your pain, I relented and brought the 512GB pro instead I was aiming for the 1TB for endurance

      • Will have to do the same. price is irresistible for my new build.

        • So eBay sale of 1TB pro takes 10% (obviously if you can find a 20% that blows it out of the water) off and thus puts it $3 off what it is in a few other stores that are not on ebay but listed in the Samsung cashback website and your forcing yourself to go the 512GB route instead. I feel like I'm missing something? flybuys maybe? my morning coffee?
Though if your really really after endurance DC P3700 :P

          • @Cadal: 1 TB would be good, but I can live with 500 GB which is more than sufficient for my Operating system and couple of games. My existing SSD would be used for documents.
Drink your evening coffee and chill.

          • @Cadal: Ive got them already we use buckets of them at work for our caching filesystems. The P4610 in the 7.6TB flavours are what you really want if you need to have endurance at 44.25PBW

Plus I've burnt my fair share of Enterprise SSD's using them for ceph

  • Not bad, NVME too.

How go grab an eBay $100 GC for $95??

  • What's the current going price for a 1tb one post cashback?

    • I cant find any 1 TB with 20% off sellers.

  • Thanks for the heads up OP, been considering/holding off for a 1TB for months now (only one M.2 slot atm), watching prices etc, but this price/bonuses (& current lack of 1TB bargains) finally made me take the plunge into M.2 land.

For anyone chasing a 1TB atm who are unaware, stocks are low, most sites are Pre-Order, best deal I could find "apparently" with stock is Gamedude Computers (QLD) for $299 (possibly with shipping).
The best Pre-Order deal I found is centrecom, $289 incl shipping.

    Cheers!
