FWIW, these are $20 at the Shaver Shop also. Being that they are marked down from $50, it's bound to please the OzBargainer more

  • Are these any different to the "Pro 500" model that's around the $50 mark?

    • +4

Vitality vs Pro 500 vs Pro 1000
Looks like the only difference is the Pro 500 has a timer display on the handle, and buzzes every 30 seconds and alerts you at 2 minutes. Vitality only buzzes at two minutes.

      • Careful, some AU models have different specs to the US models.

      • Main difference is the Vitality has a 2D action in the way the motor spindle rotates and the Pro 500 has a 3D action

  • Grabbed one - seems pretty good.

  • Nice. Just bought the AMEX Dan Murphys (eGift) card and will use it on this. Thanks!

  • What's the go with these?

Do people not normally brush their teeth anymore?

    • +5

I tried to oscillate my hand for two minutes but just couldn't get the frequency stable.

    • My dentist has told me to move on to these type of electric brushes. Apparently everyone wears into their teeth a particular way with a tooth brush causing issues.

    • +1

I have sensitive teeth and gum. It bleed when i use a normal toothbrush. Doesn't happen with "these" so far.

      • Same - well rather than bleed my gums hurt with normal toothbrush but not electric.

    • +2

They're really good, once you go electric you won't go back.

If you're after the upper end ones, Shaver Shop are also doing 40-50% off the Pro range, and Chemist's Warehouse too (better than Shaver Shop on at least the Pro 2 2000)

  • Our power plug is not conveniently located. how often do you have to charge it?

    • +2

They last a few days easily. You can hear the pitch of the motor start to drop when they fade.

    • +1

Been using for a few years. Brushing twice daily, should last you 4-5 days effectively & an overnight charge does the recharge trick.

$0.05 cheaper at The Shaver Shop: https://www.shavershop.com.au/oral-b/vitality-precision-clea…

However, as a long time user, let me warn you. Once the battery is gone, they can't replace or recycle it. It leaves such a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). I would feel better if they can at least recycle the old one. Mine is about 3 years old and I'm not planning to buy a new one even though my current battery only lasts 3 minutes after charging overnight.

  • my advice is spend a little extra for the soocare x3, it is usually only $60 but its worlds apart, even when i upgraded from the vitality to one of the higher oral b models, the soocare x3 was still a massive improvement for the same price

    • I'm currently using the vitality and have a bunch of heads for it. Can they also be used for the higher model?

EDIT: did a quick search for brushheads on shavershop and looks like it is compatible with a few models according to the picture

      Compatible:
      -Triumph
      -Professional Care
      -Vitality

EDIT2: I re-read your comment and you are actually suggesting to get the Xiaomi Soocare X3 and not the higher oral-b models. I'll look into both. Thanks

    • Description says the battery lasts up to 25 days. I'm sold!

    • You're saying Xiaomi makes a better toothbrush than Oral-B? [thinking face emoji]

  • How much better than this Kids Electric Toothbrush $15

  • Thanks, was just after a new one. The previous one has really black icky bits which are impossible to remove.
