    $89 plus $12 unlock.

Meizu M6 does have fingerprint scanner and dual SIM.
Nokia 3 has NFC, Band 28 and Android One.

How are updates on the Meizu?

    • Thanks for your interest and taking the time to comment.
The last update was the 29th of November. This can be manually DL from the global site if it hasn't been OTA already. (Update inclusions" new features" may vary subject to region or handset configuration.)
The reference to "unlocked" means local Australian stock. NOT GREY IMPORTS and no affiliation to a carrier. Yes the Nokia 3 is a good phone, out of the box it is however locked to a network and only has only a 8 MP camera and a smaller battery.

Anything Meizu will be assembled from the lowest quality parts.

sorry but I had a completely opposite experience with their bluetooth headphones (EP-51). They are still going strong even after couple of years of heavy use (eg. gym, thrown around in pockets/bags etc). Really impressive with the build quality/durability.

    • Thanks for the comment
Actually the M6 the 13 meg camera sensor's are supplied a global leader in this technology named Sony. The processor is from Mediatek also a chip company that has been readily used by tier 1 phone companies.
Meizu and other larger competing brands may share the same components because we have access to the same suppliers for technology.

      • By "tier 1 phone companies" you mean Umidigi, Uniwa, Blackview, Doogee, Leagoo, BluBoo, Oukitel, Ulefone, Cubot ?

    • The build quality of my Meizu M2 Mini is excellent and it still works fine after 3+ years of heavy use. I would definitely buy another Meizu phone.

  • How does it compare to the OUKITEL C12 Pro?

I prefer the OUKITEL C12 Pro just because of the large screen size (6.18in).

Both these phones also have 2GB RAM and 16GB drive space.

The OUKITEL C12 Pro has a Quad Core CPU though, vs the Octa Core of the Meizu.

Batteries are very similar, with the OUKITEL C12 Pro just in front with a 3300mAh battery.

I think the Quad Core is much better suited to these batteries than an Octa Core.

    • +1

      Thanks for your comment.

I don't believe the phones are a direct comparison. On the other hands the the CPU of the OUKITEL is MTK6739 this a quad core, not say 4 cores a bad in this instance this processor support up to Cat 4, when the M6's MTK6750 is 8 cores and and Cat 6 up to 300Mbps DL ( Network dependent).

      • Yeah, you're right. It's not a direct comparison.

I just thought I'd add my 2c in because I also needed a new phone and for me, a big screen is the most important thing.

        I don't need the fastest.

I also wanted others to comment on the OUKITEL C12 Pro also.

Really a nice phone at that price point.

  • Does anyone know if this phone supports Hardware playback of 10bit Hevc(x265) video through MX Player???

  • No band 28 or notification LED?

  • Not sure if this helps but below are the video format the M6 supports out of the box.
    3GP, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, m2ts, tsH264、MPEG4、VC1、H263、MPEG1、MPEG2、VP8

    AU$116 delivered on aliexpress

I have the M6 note - larger screen and battery, better CPU, more RAM. - it's pretty much a different phone. but looks like the bigger version. and same iOS. I like it. best china droid i've owned.

the M6 note is usually available for ~US$105 delivered. but it seems to have gone up in price. and cheapest is about US$125

I honestly wouldn't bother with the M6. many better phones available for the same price or less.

    • Have you ever tried playing 10bit Hevc(x265) videos on your phone?

      • No, send me a link for one and I'll try.

        • These are probably the most used hevc test videos:

          http://www.jell.yfish.us/

Try the 10bit clips from 3Mbps and up till the phone can't play.

If you have MX Player can you tell me if the phone can handle the 10bit clips in hardware?

          • +2

@prxy: installed MX player and the 10bit clips from 3Mbps.

            it played.

initially it buffered for half a second but then played fine.

I shut down all the active apps and tried again and it played fine right from the start.

            • @altomic: While playing the 10bit hevc clips can you touch the screen so that you see the player controls like pause, fast forward etc.

At the top right of the screen next to subtitle, audio options etc there should be some letters: HW, HW+ or SW.

If HW or HW+ is showing then there is 10bit Hevc Hardware support.

If SW then only software 10bit Hevc support.

    • "I honestly wouldn't bother with the M6. many better phones available for the same price or less"

Would you care to recommend any?, I would be interested, as looking for a cheap best bang for buck phone, cheers.

  • bad deal there was sharp 3 something with 4GB ram for $139.

Meizu make excellent quality phones. I've had my M3 Mini for three years and I'm very happy with quality. But I would avoid the M6, due its limited (16GB) internal storage. Starting with version 5 of Flyme, Meizu's customised version of Android, they removed the ability to move apps th a Micro SD card (just as Xiaomi did with MIUI). I had to install custom firmware on my M3 Mini, to be able to use my Micro SD card as internal storage.

I have a Meizu note 6 2/32 and it's a nice phone paid 160 delivered for that a while back.

    • but this one in gold.. it's worth it!
